Unique Mono Mix

In order to create this unique mono mix it would only have been possible by using abbey Road's Stereo master Tapes and mix the original format down.

There was a Japan Import Mono lp that is impossible to find and now that mix is available via an unofficial source.

In other words, this is the rarest possible item and is in effect the only exiting master tape of the mono mix.

Unlike Vinyl a reel-to-reel tape will bypasses the problems with crackley background noise and therefore optimum audio reproduction is available here and maybe this could be the only time it ever comes up for sale.

In 1970 Paul took full control of production and to that point he had studder mixing console delivered to his St Johns wood home where most of his recordings took place.

His Obvious anger at Phil Spectors over-dubbing on his "Let it be" & "The long winding road" would certainly have procluded any other engineer anywhere near the master tapes for this album therefore it is fair to say only Paul McCartney would have created and produced this unique part of Beatles history

Chip Madinger`s  "8 arms to hold" book lists this item but even this most thorough of authors could not get hold of a copy of this Mono Mix for love nor money.

One of the uk Price Guides (Who Value this at £100) List this as an apple Production but constant with miss-information provided by that production this is positively a Parlophone product.

This album was pressed in stereo for all 4 formats as standard and the only way you could get the unique mono mix was to buy the reel-to-reel tape.

This format would not have been available on the shelf as standard for 99% of the Record shops of the day and therefore it would have to have been ordered specially and with Stereo being the "in thing" at this time the Mono Tape order would have been unusual to say the least.

This set comprises of three parts, the reel-to-reel tape, the insert and the plastic outer case, the insert is in near perfect condition, the other case is complete with no cracks but does have surface marks associated with being handled and protecting the contents.

The reel appears to be in fine condition and is complete and whilst i do not have a reel to reel player the tape appears to be in good order with no obvious creasing or damage, it has the official white parlophone leader tape that displays all the markings of the company (parlophone), year of release(1970) and country of manufacture(uk).
