Vinyl Condition:    EXCELLENT

It has a few hairlines, but no real scuffs or scratches. It plays really well throughout and there are no serious marks on the vinyl at all. Plays well with very little crackling and then only in quieter sections and a few occasional minor clicks. Very clean labels. 

 Sleeve Condition:    VERY GOOD

Has very liitle wear, no ring wear or edge wear. Some soft creases. Clean readable spine. No splits, no rips, no tears, no writing, no sellotape, etc. It would have been graded EXCELLENT but it has serious laminate lift. These South African copies all seem to have the same problem. During the laminating process the laminating has been too tight and has now shrunk with age. This has caused the laminate to leave a void (a vacuum underneath).

(TIP: Don't ever try to break the lifted laminate - it makes an horrible mess of the sleeve!)

Inner Sleeve:   EXCELLENT

Original shaped poly inner. Looks almost new. Has creases. No rips, tears, writing, sellotape, etc. A very clean inner sleeve.

Grading System:  I have used Record Collector magazine set of standards for the condition of second-hand records. I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradings where applicable.

I try to grade all records in accordance with the Rare Record Price Guide (see above). However if you feel I have graded your record incorrectly please email me ASAP so we can resolve the problem amicably.

RECORD COLLECTOR Grading System

MINT:   The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.  (NOTE: As far as I am concerned, MINT will never apply to second hand vinyl records).

EXCELLENT:   The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:   The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:   The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR:   The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR:   The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD:   The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Post & Packaging - I recycle all packaging so you will get your goods in recycled packaging / cardboard container. All items over £20 are sent 'Signed For' and I always obtain a 'Certificate of Posting' for cheaper items. All items are securely and properly packaged and vinyl is sent using double corrugated cardboard stiffeners.
