Patti Smith Group     "Easter"

This is a US vinyl pressing on Arista AB 4171 from 1978.      This was her third album.     The labels are light blue over gray with black printing.          The front cover is autographed : "To Len.  Patti Smith  o c.".      ( It is a very sloppy signature. )      "Because The Night" was her biggest hit single and it reached # 13 on Billboard.       It was co-written with Bruce Springsteen.    This album comes with a bi-fold lyric insert.     

I got this album from Tower Records in Portland, Oregon.     I was there the day after they shut the doors and went out of business.      I bought lots of promo stand-ups, album cover slicks, 7" singles, and a box of about 100 albums.      ALL of the albums had been taken off of the high walls of the store.        Every album was autographed !!       They were autographed to store employees that had gone to their concerts.          This album is sold 'as is' with no proof or authentication.

Her band is : Lenny Kaye, Ivan Kral, Jay Dee Daughter, and Bruce Brody.        This album was produced Jimmy Iovine ( who also produced some Tom Petty albums).     The album cover photography is by Lynn Goldsmith.

The songs are : Till Victory, Space Monkey, Because The Night, Ghost Dance, Babelogue, Rock N Roll Nigger, Privilege (Set Me Free), We Three, 25th Floor, High On Rebellion, and Easter.

Overall Condition is : Cover is VG- /  Record is VG

The cover is VG- with no seam splits.         There is lots of ring wear, lots of seam wear, lots of little scuffs, corner bends, and writing on the front.          The vinyl looks VG+ and it plays VG, with lots of light handling marks.        The labels are clean with no spindle marks.       The record comes in an Arista Records inner sleeve.     The lyric insert is VG-, with lots of little brown stains.

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.
