Pasadena, We Love You
Crown and Key records 1983
Well, here it is.  One of the weirdest examples of modern soul from Southern California.  A song praising the city of Pasadena with near-religious zeal.  I have no idea why this record exists, but it's pretty great.  Lush orchestrations of strings and horns, disco drums, slick and polished production overall.  Side A is the vocal version and side B is an instrumental.  Produced by Lui Lui (Louis?) Satterfield and featuring Don Myrick on sax.  Pretty safe to say this 'Crown and Key' label surfaced to put this record out and then vanished.  They did a nice job though, the pressing sounds great (yes, I have an open keeper copy).  A must for lovers of obscure disco and modern soul.

Minor corner dings and creasing, otherwise flawless and like new.
