Paganini Caprices Ruggiero Ricci UK Decca SXL 2194
Ruggiero Ricci plays the “24 Caprices” of Paganini. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2194 stampers 4W/3W), the labels are black with silver lettering and with a Full Frequency Stereo Sound band. The record has three or four marks on side one, the first of which clicks softly for thirty plus revolutions through tracks 1 to the start of 2, then some occasional low-level clicks and another group of 20 plus on track three. Otherwise the record is of excellent appearance and it plays and sounds superb (spectacular recording) with low-level surface noise. The cover has rubbed a little with a slight ring and a few small creases in the laminate and the back has some minor spotting.
