Le violoniste, chef d'orchestre et pédagogue français Devy Erlih est décédé mardi à Paris à l'âge de 83 ans à la suite d'un accident sur la voie publique. C'est son épouse qui a annoncé la nouvelle ce mercredi à l'AFP. Le musicien, qui a interprété nombre d'oeuvres du XXe siècle, a été «renversé par un véhicule alors qu'il se rendait à l'Ecole normale de musique», a déclaré Christine Jolivet-Erlih, épouse du musicien et fille du compositeur André Jolivet. Violoniste formé au Conservatoire de Paris, Devy Erlih était né à Paris en 1928. Il était devenu professeur au conservatoire de Marseille dès 1968, puis au conservatoire de Paris en 1982. Le violoniste était également chef d'orchestre: il avait créé les Solistes de Marseille en 1973, et dirigé, à partir de 1977, le Centre provençal de musique de chambre. En tant que compositeur, Devy Erlih a écrit Violostries (1965) et le ballet La Rose de plumes (1965), ainsi que différentes cadences de concertos. Interprète de son temps, il a créé plusieurs oeuvres signées Antunes, Milhaud (Concerto n°2, 1959), Tomasi (Concerto, 1964), Sauguet (Concerto, 1965), Jolivet (Suite rhapsodique, Incantation, 1967).
