Description
Columbia Masterworks Records 33 rpm 12" mono LP # KL-5726 contains pieces by Mendelssohn, Couperin and Schumann and Pablo Casals played by Pablo Casals (cello), Alexander Schneider (violin) and Mieczyslav Horszowski (piano) at a concert at the JFK White House on November 13, 1961. The photo on the front of the gatefold cover shows John and Jacqueline Kennedy sitting in the front row of the audience, and they can also be seen in photos in the bound-in four-page booklet inside. a Chamber Group and soloists conducted by Fritz Reiner. The soloists on Concerto No. 5 are Sylvia Marlowe (harpsichord), Hugo Kolberg (violin) and Julius Baker (flute). And on Concerto No. 6 the solo violinists are William Linger and Nicholas Biro.
The record looks to be in about VG to VG+ condition, still beautifully shiny, but with some visible surface scuffs and scratches. The cover has some light surface and edge wear, and two stickers on the back (one a price sticker, the other from a record store in Lexington, Massachusetts). It has an anti-static inner sleeve. If there's a shiny spot on the picture below, that's just the reflection of the flash when we took the picture.
If any of our pictures fail to show up, first try a right-click on the red cross, then a left-click on "Show Picture" (you may have to try more than once). If that fails, we can send pictures to you by e-mail or direct you to their websites.
See our seller list for other vintage records, in fact bid on several to save on shipping and handling. Shipping is $3.50 for the first record (or $4.00 for a 78), then 50 cents per record.
If you have any questions, comments or information, please contact us directly at Redhouse31@aol.com, rather than using the cumbersome contact procedures set up by eBay, which do nothing but clog up our mailbox.
Winning bidder pays shipping and handling ($3.50 in the USA). To protect ourselves against the draconian implications of the so-called "Paypal Buyer Protection Policy", we require all Paypal payments to include an additional amount to cover the actual cost of insurance. For other forms of payment, insurance is optional, but risk of loss or damage is yours. Maine residents, please also add 5 percent sales tax. Non-US residents, please contact us prior to bidding to determine your shipping options and costs.
We prefer that you not send payment until we have sent you our confirmation e-mail, which usually goes out within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Paypal is not our preferred method of payment, and we strongly discourage the use of the Paypal instant payment feature until you have received our end-of-auction confirmation letter. Nevertheless, if you still choose to make a Paypal instant payment before receiving our confirmation letter, we will take that as full acceptance of our terms, and, so long as the payment is in the correct amount, our next step will be to mail the item without necessarily sending you a return e-mail.
Good luck, bidders!
