Description
THE OUTCASTS / RUDI / IDIOTS / SPIDER scarce Battle of the Bands double 7" on Good Vibrations Records (GOT 7) from 1978. Tracks are The Cops Are Comin’ (Outcasts); Overcome By Fumes (Rudi); Parents (Idiots); and Dancing in the Street (Spider).
The vinyl on both discs is barely marked and was well looked after by the person I got it from (All of whose records were stored in plastic covers from day of purchase; tape-recorded; and handled, stored and treated properly).
There is some very light ‘foxing’ on the white paper labels and a small mark on the Rudi label – see the photos; there’s nothing to hide!
The incredibly flimsy paper fold-out sleeve looks like it was printed onto bog roll by a five-year-old using potato cut-outs. Consequently, because of its flimsiness and because it held two discs there are two very small holes in the seams. These are just visible in the third photo under the 'S' of Idiots; and the 'D' of Spider (to the left of the head of the Outcasts member on the right). There's also light feathering at the top edge. However, I reckon this is about as good as you can expect for this release – there’s no other rips, no writing, no stickers, no sticker residue. There’s some minor ring wear and a little age-related grubbiness but it’s still as good as any I’ve seen for years, especially the vinyl.
To put it in perspective, I remember buying this new (not this actual item for sale now) in 1878 and even then the paper sleeve was not what I’d call a perfect example of the printer or typesetter’s art. And more power to Good Vibrations for its DIY approach because that influenced and encouraged many others!
Please do not contact me asking to end the auction early and offering to buy it. You will be ignored. Please respect this and do not waste my time. Or yours...

ITEMS FOR DELIVERY IN THE UK WILL ONLY BE SENT BY FIRST CLASS SIGNED-FOR MAIL.
All items are sent properly and strongly packaged in a mailer with a protective outer plastic sleeve, corrugated inner stiffeners, and a paper inner sleeve. Postage and packing costs are as follows…
UK First Class ‘Signed For’ = £2.00
‘Signed For’ is to protect YOU as a buyer and ME as a seller so I can confirm whether the record has arrived and so you can track its progress.
Europe by Airmail = £2.50 (BUT SEE BELOW!)
Rest of the World by Airmail = £3.50 (BUT SEE BELOW!)
(e.g. USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or anywhere that is NOT UK or Europe)
I reserve the right to insist that an item is posted using either the ‘International Signed-For’ service or the ‘Airsure’ service to Europe or Rest of World and paid for by the buyer accordingly.
‘International Signed-For’ will apply if, for example, the item has sold for a sum above £30; or if the buyer has a low or dubious feedback score; or if the buyer is in a country which has, in my experience and that of others I know, a poor record of safe postal delivery (e.g. Italy, Brazil, Russia to name a few).
‘International Signed-For’ costs an extra £4.95 IN ADDITION to the standard airmail costs shown above. Please note also that if the item sells for more than £46 there is an EXTRA £2.50 to add for insurance. These are NOT my charges; they are the prices charged by the Post Office. See:
http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/delivery-options-international/international-signed
It may apply in other circumstances too and at my discretion.
Depending on your country and the final sale price of the item, I may insist that the Airsure service is used instead. I generally use this for items sold for £100 or more. It costs more than ‘International Signed-For.’
For applicable non-EU destinations, Airsure costs £5.30 plus the standard airmail costs shown above. If the item sells for more than £46 there is also an EXTRA £2.50 to add for insurance.
For applicable EU destinations, please contact me for a price or go to: http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/delivery-options-international/airsure/prices
These are NOT my charges; they are the prices charged by the Post Office.
IF YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER AND YOU WANT FEEDBACK LEFT FOR YOU THEN PLEASE HAVE THE COURTESY TO LEAVE IT FOR ME FIRST. I WILL THEN LEAVE IT FOR YOU.
By bidding on this item you are taken to have read and agreed to all of the above.
