PiL managed to avoided all boundaries and Metal Box is undoubtedly the apex of their vision.
It's a hallmark of uncompromising, challenging post-punk, sounding unlike anything else.
There were touchstones the bizarreness of Captain Beefheart, the open and rhythmic spaces of Can, and the dense pulses of Lee Perry's dub productions - but what they achieved with their second record is a completely unique hour of avant-garde noise

A clean set of labels.
No spindle traces or any sign the set has ever been played

A couple of the sides have some superficial marks but these have no effect on the sound

The whole set plays as-new throughout with nothing of fault
METAL BOX: NEAR MINT
The tin has tarnished with age but there are no dents to the rims and the 'METAL 1" sticker is perfect with no signs of attempted removal
DIVIDERS: NEAR MINT
No rips or damage. Some small foxing spots and soft creasing
INSERT: NEAR MINT
Clean with some tiny knocks to the corners from moving around in the tin and a couple of faint foxing spots
