Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. • SAVOY BROWN seemed to be left for the dead after all members left founding guitarist Kim Simmonds to form FOGHAT. It seams the groups changing direction opting for a HEAVY ROCK sound ignited on their previous LP "Looking In" created dissension among the three other group members, who promptly walked away to form FOGHAT, adding Black Cat Bones devastating guitarist Rod Price to their line up, which in effect promptly replaced Kim Simmonds whose guitar work was very similar to Rod Price. Looking back it wasn't a mistake, as Foghat made it to arena-rock popularity en-masse.
    • The Savoy Brown group leader / guitarist Kim Simmonds was left holding on to only the storied bands name and little else. Without a hitch he quickly assembled the new SAVOY BROWN which included the bassist, keyboards & percussionist nucleus of CHICKEN SHACK - who had just broken up. Simmonds then hired on Dave Walker an accomplished vocalist who was languishing in THE IDLE RACE, going nowhere fast when their leader Jeff Lynne had left that band to enlist with the esteemed "MOVE" then on to fame leading the The Electric Light Orchestra. There wasn't a ton of expectation with this new Savoy Brown line up but lo-and-behold the group jelled and clicked. Even nearing 50 years later their debut LP, "STREET CORNER TALKING" has gotten even better with age, and is decidedly with no weak tracks. THe basic boogie-blues rock sound remains and the material is the real highlight throughout. Right from the very first track "Tell Mama" - anyone should have easily been able to tell could have been a big hit had the label bothered to notice and promote properly. The album doesn't let up from there resulting in a very engaging set throughout both sides climaxing within the near 11 minutes "All I Can Do Is Cry" which has the potential in taking the listener back to the Savoy Brown glory days when led by singer Chris Youlden. Savoy Brown of late 1971 may not have hit the stages of mass-popularity, but left just in the same a highly enjoyable LP, one that was very popular on the underground FM radio circuit which was thee thing at the cusp of 1970.
