PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. This is a VERY very limited edition ...reported by pressing source to have been issued in micro issue of only 50 copies ... Advised that Ultimate Spinach leader Ian Bruce-Douglas was involved in the project, that's unconfirmed by Mr Bruce-Douglas, but was reportedly the source of the soundboard tape ... Either way, the album (group going under the title "THE UNICORN") remains a killer document of the ULTIMATE SPINACH just months before their first album, with original line-up in full thrilling form featuring garage-rock, folk rock and mind-blowing psychedelic grooves ...The recordings do sound like the Ultimate Spinach in their embryonic stage; music in that they retain more of a garage sound than on any of their three MGM Records releases that followed ... Fans of the Ultimate Spinach will certainly enjoy this early version of the band with the cool farfisa organ led garage-psych attitude, distorted guitars, hippie female/male vocal blends and of course their signature tripped-out lyrics. The highlights are early works in progress of killer Ultimate Spinach tunes that wold appear in defferent versions on their first and second albums, with feature track a acid drenched 12+ minute adventure in "MIND GARDENS" then under the working title of "RUSH" as well s a killer 6+ minute version of "HIP DEATH GODESS" ...elsewhere, "Follow Me" retains pleasant innocent vibes, and infectious melody - a slice of the free style hippie philosophies...while "HEY JOE" is very un-Spinach like, a nugget straight from thew garage...
Ian Bruce-Douglas had this to say about the UNICORN / Ultimate Spinach crew: "I am 90% sure about the timing of the event (was 1967) although I can't be more specific than "Summer of '67". Actually, it might have been the Spring! Why? This all happened in between my band becoming the house-band at 'The Unicorn Coffeehouse' in Boston...or just before...and our starting to record our first album, which wouldn't happen until September of '67."
