Description
PRINCE ‘Controversy’/‘When You Were Mine’ 12" Vinyl Single from 1981 (Warner Bros., UK Release, Cat N° K17866T)
"Controversy" is considered Prince's breakthrough hit in Australia, where it peaked at number 15. In the U.S. the song climbed to number three on the Soul Singles chart and was the first of seven number ones on the dance chart for Prince.
Vinyl, which shows considerable wear (see accompanying photos), could not be graded higher than Fair. Sleeve, which has some edge- and ringwear (see accompanying photos), looks to be in Very Good condition. Round number sticker missing from upper left corner of reverse of sleeve; one can see a dot there marking where it was previously affixed.
