Few artists have created a body of work as rich and varied as Prince. During the '80s, he emerged as one of the most singular talents of the rock & roll era, capable of seamlessly tying together pop, funk, folk, and rock. With each album he released, Prince has shown remarkable stylistic growth and musical diversity, constantly experimenting with different sounds, textures, and genres.

DIRTY MIND
After more than two decades of being out of print, Dirty Mind is finally back on vinyl! Originally released in 1980, Dirty Mind is the pop provocateur's third album, completely produced, arranged and composed by Minneapolis' favorite son. While it established parameters that Prince would follow for the remainder of the decade, the record also remains unique for its blend of rock, funk, pop, and new wave.
CONTROVERSY
Continuing on with the pioneering directions he began pursuing on Dirty Mind, Prince again comes up roses on 1981's Controversy, an enterprising record on which he turns more political and furher assimilates keyboards and synthesizers into arrangements. Controversy is also home to the piano ballad and chart smash “Do Me, Baby,” a sensitive song that's considered by many as his finest vocal effort. Back on vinyl for the first time in ages, Controversy features complete reproduction of original packaging and comes with collectable poster.

Records don't come more influential or stunning than 1999. Originally released in 1982, 1999 signified Prince's fifth full-length album and first to feature The Revolution as his backing band. The breakthrough set gave Prince an unrivaled pop run for the next decade, culminating in an international stardom and literally revolutionary creativity. If any more evidence was needed of the double-LP's greatness, just take a look at the track listing. Yet, in addition to the hits, Prince also provides worthwhile sonic experimentation and ventures into areas he'd previously bypassed. Rolling Stone named it #163 on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Prince designed Purple Rain as the project that would make him a superstar, and surprisingly, that is exactly what happened.
