Up for auction is a RARE PRE-WAR BLUES 78 RPM record by BLIND BOY FULLER on the CONQUERER records label (#8641). This record was recorded in 1935.
The A side tune is titled I'M A RATTLESNAKIN' DADDY, and the B side tune is titled SOMEBODY'S BEEN PLAYING WITH THAT THING. This record receives an overall grade of V+ due to expected 78 RPM surface noise, and residue on various areas of the shellac on both sides.
The first 1/4 of the A side shellac contains a bit more residue than the rest of the A side, which causes the first 1/4 of the song to have moderate surface noise, but the rest of the song has light surface noise. An experienced collector of 78 RPM records may know how to remove the residue in an effort to improve the sound. Both songs play thru without any distortion or skipping, and the sound is actually quite clear and a pleasant listening experience.
The labels are in E+ condition as can be seen by the close-up photos.
Even though this PRE-WAR Blues 78 RPM record is highly collectible, I have a low starting bid, so let's see what happens.
The bottom line is that if you are not pleased with the condition of this rare 78, I will gladly refund your monies via PayPal, once I have received the record in the condition in which I sent it. So please bid with confidence.
I will package this 78 RPM record between four pieces of sturdy cardboard, wrap it with bubble wrap, and place it in a sturdy cardboard box so that it is protected very well during shipping.
I will ship this rare 78 RPM record outside the Continental United States via USPS First Class International for a shipping cost $25.00, and if the cost to ship across the pond is more, I will pay the difference. If the winning bidder lives outside the Continental United States, I will declare the price of the winning bid as the value of the record on the US Customs Declaration Form, so please DO NOT ask me to lower the value of the record on the Customs Declaration Form, because it is againt the law to do this. The wining bidder is responsible for paying for insurance if he/she chooses to have the record insured.
The reason I mention the Customs Declaration Form value issue is because the winning bidder of a rare Rockabilly 45 RPM record that I recently sold on eBay lives outside the Continental United States, and he asked me if I would consider lowering the value of the Rockabilly 45 on the Customs Declaration Form because the winning bid for this 45 was over $200.00. When I informed him that I would not lower the value on the Customs Declaration Form, the winning bidder provided me with an address in the Untied States, and the issue was resolved to everyone's satisfaction.
