Description

This LP is getting very difficult to find.

It's on the UK black Columbia label with blue logo and silver wording. It's an early pressing and is by a UK band called The Pretty Things. It's entitled 'S. F. Sorrow' and was released in 1968. Some say it was the first 'concept' album. The music is superb throughout with electric guitar and strong vocals dominating.

It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is SCX 6306.

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is an inner flipback gatefold and is laminated on the outside. It's is in fine condition with some minor wear and creasing on front and back. It states on the rear cover - 'Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London - SX 6306 - SCX 6306'. The edges and spine show some minor wear. The wording along the spine is 90% readable. I've graded the sleeve VG++.

INNER BAG -  EMI Records company paper sleeve which shows LP covers by other EMI artists on both sides. the condition is VG + (there is a split at the bottom which could be invisibly repaired.

RECORD - The record is in fine condition. It appears to have been played a few times. There are some light superficial marks on each side. It plays through well on both sides with some definite surface noise (especially at the latter end of side two) and one or two pops and clicks on both sides. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.

LABELS - The labels are black with the blue Columbia logo at the top and silver wording. There are some spindle marks on both sides around the hole. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. It states at the top of the labels - 'SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS'. The matrix numbers are featured above the date (1968) on either side - side one - YAX. 3738 - side two - YAX.3739. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - YAX 3738 - 1 (stampers 1    G) - side two - YAX 3739 -1 (stampers 1    A). I've graded the record as VG+ which I believe is very fair.

I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.

THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
