A RARE ORIGINAL 1968 *FIRST PRESSING -1-1, 1G 1G* FACTORY SAMPLE ALBUM RELEASE FROM, THE PRETTY THINGS.

  The Pretty Things are an English rock band from London, who originally formed in 1963. They took their name from Willie Dixon's 1955 song "Pretty Thing". Their most commercially successful period was the mid-1960s, although they continue to perform to this day. David Bowie covered two of their songs on his album Pin Ups. The Pretty Things were preceded by Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys, which consisted of Dick Taylor, fellow Sidcup Art College student Keith Richards, and Mick Jagger. When Brian Jones was recruiting for his own band, all three joined Brian and Ian Stewart and were dubbed "Rollin' Stones" by Jones. Taylor would briefly play bass guitar in the nascent Rolling Stones who employed a variety of drummers during 1962. aylor quit the Stones several months later when he was accepted at the London Central School of Art (to be replaced by Bill Wyman), where he met Phil May and they formed the Pretty Things.  Taylor was once again playing guitar, with May singing and playing harmonica. They recruited Brian Pendleton on rhythm guitar; John Stax on bass; and on drums Pete Kitley, replaced by Viv Andrews (also known as Viv Broughton) and then by Viv Prince. A fellow student at the Art College where May and Taylor studied, Bryan Morrison, was recruited as their manager. Morrison was to manage them for the rest of the 1960s, building his own Bryan Morrison Agency. This agency represented Pink Floyd among many other bands.

  This is a rare and genuine very first issue stereo Factory Sample album release from, Pretty Things, with -1-1 Matrices and 1G-1G Mother Stampers.

  Both record labels show very little signs of play to the centres, and are in beautiful Near Mint condition, all Silver and Blue text are clear and unfaded .

  The LP plays through all tracks without faults, a great sound quality from this album, there are no clicks, pops, skips or background noise.

  The machine stampers, side1, YAX 3738-1, side 2, YAX 3739-1.

  Side 1& 2 first mother stampers: 1G and Side 2: 1G.

  Both sides of the LP are free from deep scratches and scuffs, with just a few visible surface hairline scratches, and are in Excellent to Excellent Plus condition.

  The LP comes in it’s original EMI advertising inner bag, and is housed in it’s original front and back laminated E.J.Day gate-fold sleeve, and is a very nice Excellent example. The sleeve is laminated to the front a back with light LP indentation and mild corner bumps, there is a small repaired split on the top edge of the reverse panel, (see scan). The inner gatefold and internal flip-backs of the sleeve ares undamaged Excellent Plus condition.
