Cover: 1st pressing E J Day laminated outer (unlaminated inside) gatefold cover. No writings, doodles or seam splits. Lovely clear spine. Rates as Excellent+ - see photos.

Inner sleeve: Black and white EMI 'ads' inner sleeve is Near Mint.

Labels:  Side 2 has the original 'factory sample' sticker. Side 1 has some sticker residue that I am told was from a 'demonstation only - not for sale' sticker. This is consistent with the handwritten timings and marks that were probably the sound engineer's findings that would normally be found on a test pressing. As the 1G/1G stampers are the earliest possible to find, it would make sense for this pressing to be used for test purposes.  I cannot confirm all of this but see label scans for details and you can make your own mind up.

Vinyl: Play tested. Looks Near Excellent to Excellent with some whispy lightish marks. Lovely sheen. No skips/jumps. Plays Near Excellent to Excellent with only minor static crackle - which is only noticeable between tracks and during the quiet moments. Fabulous stereo sound. The Pretty Things were early pioneers of the sensitive use of stereo sound to enhance the themes of the songs. Sounds absolutely fantastic on vinyl.

Gradings......

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
