Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature some of my rare records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare first 1967 DUTCH ONLY STEREO pressing of The Pretty Things – Mama, Keep Your Big Mouth Shut on the Fontana label, cat. no. 701 576 WPY.
The record is in VG++ condition, there are some non – sounding hairlines and there are two visible, but non-sounding stains on side 1. The labels are in VG+ condition, there are some spindle marks and some slight wear along the spindle hole on both labels. Further, the previous owner has written his name on side 1.
The cover is in VG+ condition, there is some very sight ring wear coming through on both front and back, the spine has some age browning and a couple bald spots and the back has a signature of the previous owner, some “x” marks next to three tracks and a piece of the upper cardboard layer is missing from the top flip-back. Besides these mentioned defects, this cover looks more than decent to me.
This is a very rare Holland only pressing of The Pretty Things’ Mama, Keep Your Big Mouth Shut album. Basically, this record is the same as the Pretty Things’ debut album, with the only difference that the song “Roadrunner” has been replaced by “Progress” plus that this album was only available in STEREO. This album is a real must have for all Pretty Things collectors, so this is your chance to complete your Pretty Things collection! Happy Bidding!
