DESCRIPTION
Miles Davis (Miles Davis / Milt Jackson / Jackie McLean / Ray Bryant / Percy Heath / Art Taylor) - All Stars (Prestige PRLP 7034)
Original Prestige deep groove mono first pressing featuring Miles Davis, Milt Jackson, etc. with Rudy Van Gelder production. Yellow "fireworks" Prestige labels with "Long Playing Microgroove" and "203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J." address (although W. 50th St., NYC address is printed on bottom of sleeve). Hand-etched matrices "PRLP-7034-A/B" and hand-etched "RVG" and "AB" (for Abbey Manufacturing). Sleeve has "Prestige Hi Fi LP.7034" at top right of front and "Prestige LP 7034 / Hi Fi" at top of back. The cover photograph of Miles squatting is an evenly-toned duotone (yellow and black-and-white) image - I have seen some copies where only the fence is yellow and Miles and the sidewalk are black-and-white, I believe those tend to be later Prestige pressings or OJC/Japanese reissues.
I find a few copies in similar (or worse) condition for $100-$200 (e.g., http://www.ebay.com/itm/MILES-DAVIS-All-Star-Sextet-Bergenfield-Yellow-Prestige-Milt-Jackson-lp-/260291885695)

Disc is VG+ with superficial marks (hairlines/sleeve scuffs) on both sides that aren't audible (the most largest and most visible of which is in a close-up photograph above). Played both sides through without event, no skips or audible pops and minimal background noise. Record has not been cleaned (by hand or with a machine). Sleeve is VG+ with shelfwear to corners, seam at top right corner starting to split at edge, otherwise bright.
Overall a nice copy of a rare and desirable record. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or for more photos.
See my other auctions for more records, including more rare/scarce jazz that I'm listing over the next few days - happy to combine shipping whenever possible.
