Warner Brothers FLP-46228, 1973 original issue 1st Pressing (Canada)
Before they released a couple of fine LP's as the duo Darras & Desumeur, Jean-Louis Desumeur and Daniel Darras recorded this one obscure long play under the group name Presence, at the famed Studio Europa-Sonor in Paris in 1973.
A great album that definately grows on the listener, and that features the brilliant production magic of Igor Wakhevitch (one of the most revered of avant-garde electronic artists of the 70's), and the studio talents of Claude Martenot (Magma, Traffic, Quo Vadis, Triangle).
Jean-Louis Desumeur (bass, acoustic guitar), Alain Crepin (electric guitars, slide), Daniel Darras (keyboards) and Daniel Baudon (drums, percussion).
While perhaps not an all-out "prog" album, this is nevertheless a criminally over-looked mix of Babe Ruth-like and Beatle-esque rock with several superb prog-friendly and trippy cord changes & riffs, strong vocal harmonies and lots of great crescendo-building instrumental organ and guitar breaks.
