POISON IDEA – Pick Your King E.P. – Black Vinyl, 700 pressed, Fatal Erection Records #1 released in 1983 – Never Played Original Copy
Fatal Erection #1, the first record by Poison Idea, this was supposed to be pressed on Clear vinyl, but someone at the pressing plant phucked up and pressed 700 on Black vinyl before realizing their mistake. The pressing plant stopped the press, called F.E. hoping Black vinyl would be okay, no dice, but maybe F.E. would buy the Black copies later. All this really means is that Black vinyl copies are technically the first pressing, but the second pressing Clear copies were released first.
Note: It’s been 9 years since my label Fatal Erection released a record. Originally started in 1982 with my good friend Tom Roberts – R.I.P. About a year ago I told Tom I was resurrecting F.E., and was even planning to release some of Tom’s pre-Poison Idea band – The Imperialist Pigs. That project and others (including a website, etc.) are currently in the works. To help finance these projects I’m letting go of a few P.I. rarities, including a couple of their Fatal Erection releases.
