For sale is a beautiful condition genuine first U.K. mono issue of the debut album by The Beatles- PLEASE PLEASE ME
This is the first U.K. issue with the original ‘gold’ sleeve, the black and gold labels and the Dick James credits.
Original sleeve with the front photo credit to the far right starting at the end of the second s in songs, in at least VG+ condition. Only minor wear and discolouration. Spine fully intact and readable. No writing or tears.
Original Use Emitex inner sleeve in excellent condition
Record - side 1. Stamper 1RM. Side 1 label is only VG- condition as has fading from likely sticking to inner sleeve at one point. Under bright light you can see traces of liner rash on the run out dead wax.
Side one record surface is in VG+ however with hardly a mark apart from a couple of wispy marks. Sonically it is actually excellent with just a couple of very light crackles between tracks but otherwise no clicks, sticks skips or jumps. Superb sound.
Side two - stamper is 1 2GO. The label is excellent.
Visually and sonically side two is excellent, playing just as well as side 1. Incredible to believe it is nearly 60 years old.
Record sits flat on turntable without warps.
All in all a superb example of an iconic album.
