Description
This is a great record by Plastic Penny entitled 'Two Sides of a Penny'. It's an original mono recording on the UK Page One label (catalogue no. POL 005) and was released in 1968. The music features heavy keyboards and the guitar of Mick Graham (Grabham).
OUTER SLEEVE - The flipback sleeve which is laminated on the front is in pretty good condition with some wear and creasing on the front and on the rear. The flipbacks are in fine condition and are not damaged although they are discoloured. The rear of the sleeve is discoloured but is in fine condition with minimal damage. There is some minor red ballpen writing in the top left hand rear corner. The edges some wear and delamination and there is a 60mm split along the top edge. The spine shows some wear and slight delamination but the wording along the spine is 100% readable. There is some 'feathering' along both sides of the mouth of the sleeve. It states at the bottom rear of the sleeve - 'COVER FRONT DESIGN : GERRY FIREBANK - Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending - MANUFACTURED AND DISTRIBUTED BY FONTANA RECORDS'. I have graded the sleeve as VG+.
INNER SLEEVE - This is a plain white diecut paper type with a clear plastic liner and is in super condition.
RECORD - The record itself looks clean with some superficial marks on both sides. There is some surface noise over the two sides of the record and there are very occasional pops and clicks on both sides. There are definitely no jumps or skips on any of the tracks. The labels are the textured turquoise Page One type with silver wording and both are in fine condition with some spindle marks. Considering its age this record plays very well. There is no damage to the labels on either side. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - POL 005 1L V 1 (stamper 1) - side two - POL 005 2 V 1 (stamper 1). I have graded the record as VG++ and I believe that this is very fair.
