Description
PJ Harvey / Dry /1992 - Too Pure D10 / double vinyl with demonstration LP.
Numbered limited edition of 5000 copies.
The "Demonstration" LP is made up of 4-track demo recordings (mostly acoustic versions) of the same songs.
For auction: one of my personal copies of this double vinyl set, bought on the day of release (30th March 1992) from Swordfish Records, Birmingham. Limited, numbered first run (1612 of 5000) on Too Pure including a bonus LP of the demonstration version of Dry.
This was played a few times in the Spring of 1992 before being duplicated to cassette (my preferred medium at the time so I could listen via Walkman) and stowed away for the best part of three decades. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned via an ultrasonic process in the last month and transferred to archival plastic sleeves.
I've shown one side of the demonstration LP in the main images which looks spectacular. I have also taken a brace of photographs that show the condition of all four sides of the vinyl and also added very quick phone-cam video snippets of the first track from the standard and demonstration LP being played with a Rega RB330 tonearm and Denon 301mkii cartridge.

I've chosen the lead track from both discs as this is often where most crackle can be heard and - as you can hopefully hear - they play through wonderfully. There are one or two trivial surface marks across the four sides but very little playback crackle indeed. I am not a professional record grader but for perspective, I have bought many much worse looking LPs that were graded VG+, it is better than that and certainly investment grade material.

The original inner sleeves show some creasing and fingerprints but are fully intact.
There is a *very* low-ball starting price on this highly collectible release from one of our greatest artists of the current era. It will only increase in value and is becoming scarce as the limited numbers are locked away in private collections. Have a look at Discogs or previous eBay auctions to see how much this can retail for. There are CD versions or the Demonstration LP alone that are priced substantially north of the starting price of this original double vinyl edition. This is a really lovely copy, my other one is going nowhere!
