Description
Artist - Pink Floyd Title - The Wall Label - Harvest Year - 1979 Cat No - SHDW 4111 Country - UK
Here is a 1st UK Issue of the legendary Pink Floyd album `The Wall` (see 1st issue details below) amazingly the vinyl looks almost unplayed and sounds top even on the quiet sections (and theres lots), the vinyl is free of practically all the usual surface scuffs made by the rough card inners the vinyl was originally supplied in, this copy has been stored in hi-fi specialist tissue inners. Please see complete details and photos - Matrix Side 1: SHSP 4111 A-5U, Side 2: SHSP4111 B-2U THL-M, Side 3: SHSP 4112 A-1U, Side 4: SHSP 4112 B-2U THL-M
Specific to the first issue sleeve: 1. Band members are not listed on the inside cover. It only says "Words and Music - Roger Waters. Except..." and "Produced By David Gilmour, Bob Ezrin, Roger Waters". Re-pressings added band member credits and had other minor alterations. 2. No bar code on the back cover. 3. The Wall is cream coloured, not true white. The bricks on the front cover are not aligned right to the bottom of the cover on the outside or inside. 4. A single sheet of wrap-around cardboard with the seam across the inner top edge of the cover.
Vinyl: (NM/M-) Even under bright LED lights I can hardly see any of the usual surface scuffs made by the rough factory inner sleeves, no skips jumps or feelable scratches, these are real top copies of all four sides - Plays through great even on the quiet sections - Top Copy
Sleeve: (VG++/EX) as explained above this is the original UK sleeve issue as released in 1979, comes with plastic sticker, has some damage to the inner spine at the bottom (Please see all the photos for best overview)
Inner Sleeves: (VG+/EX) these are the correct 1st issue rounded corner card inners, all in ex condition with small `Knifing Hole` on bottom of side 3/4 inner ((Please see all the photos for best overview)
Labels: (NM) - Beautiful clean labels - I can only see one visible spindle line on side 2 label - shows these discs have hardly been played
Every record will have the following:
Records placed separate from sleeve to avoid knifing
Sleeve and Vinyl placed in outer Card stiffeners to protect from bending
Sealed in bubble wrap for extra protection
placed in cruciform professional record mailer
Quality Corner protection
Gradings: I use the standard UK gradings as set out in UK Record Collector Magazine below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Recordsadvertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT:The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extraitems, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Near Mint, EX+, VG+ etc are acceptable additions to help `fine tune` descriptions for the buyer
