HERE WE HAVE A STUNNING, UK HARVEST (SHPF 1983) FIRST PRESSING (February 1983) OF PINK FLOYD'S VASTLY UNDERRATED, "DIFFICULT" AND TOTALLY MIND BLOWING LP, "The Final Cut" ALL IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION AND DELIVERING THE BEST AUDIO QUALITY YOU ARE EVER LIKELY TO FIND ON THIS LP
THE VINYL HAS POSSIBLY BEEN PLAYED JUST THE ONE TIME AND IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING
THIS IS EASILY THE FINEST COPY OF THIS WONDERFUL LP I HAVE EVER OFFERED FOR SALE

THE LP IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL "MILITARY STRIP" GATEFOLD SLEEVE (with its title sticker in place) AND COMES COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL BLACK POLY LINED INNER (designed for this release), AGAIN, ALL IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION

The Final Cut was recorded using "Holophonics" - an audio processing technique used to enhance the aural three-dimensional 'feel' of the recording. Holophonics was used to make sound effects on the album appear more three-dimensional to the listener - sound effects, particularly when heard on headphones, appear to pass not just from left to right in the stereo spectrum but also from in front to behind of the listener and around them. Perhaps the most notable use of holophonics on the album is on the song 'Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert' - during the intro, an aeroplane is heard to fly swiftly overhead, passing from in front of the listener to behind them, before a huge explosion from the bomb it has dropped is heard surrounding the listener both in front and behind them and to either side of the stereo picture. The use of this technique was in keeping with Pink Floyd's long standing interest in using atmospheric sound effects combined with advances and innovations in audio technology to enhance the listener's experience of their music. It was also claimed that this process could not be duplicated if one made a copy of the recording i.e., copying from the vinyl record to tape cassette

The Final Cut extends the autobiography of The Wall, concentrating on Roger Waters' pain when his father died in World War II (the album is dedicated "for eric fletcher waters 1913-1944")
Waters spins this off into a treatise on the futility of war, concentrating on the Falkland Islands, setting his blistering condemnations and scathing anger to impossibly subdued music that demands full attention.
This is more like a novel than a record, requiring total concentration since shifts in dynamics, orchestration, and instrumentation are used as effect.
The even bent of the arrangements, where the music is used as texture, not music, means that The Final Cut purposely alienates all but the most dedicated listener. Several of those listeners (including yours truly) maintain that this is among Pink Floyd's finest efforts.
That doesn't make this easier to embrace, of course, and it's damn near impenetrable in many respects, but with its anger, emphasis on lyrics, and sonic textures, it's clear that the album is everything Waters intended it to be

LABELS: The Harvest Picture labels are in SUPERB condition and have NO wear, NO writing and only one or two of the lightest spindle traces.
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces have their original DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and are UNMARKED. VISUALLY MINT
VINYL Audio: The soundscapes PINK FLOYD create on this LP are totally mind-blowing with an astonishing dynamic range and tremendous use of textural/ambient sounds - bomb explosions, fighter planes, clocks ticking, footsteps, laughing, whispers etc. The audio is absolutely STUNNING and the emotion is genuinely profound and extremely moving. The more I return to this LP the more I appreciate that this is possibly their GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT and that's really saying something when you consider the rest of their catalogue. But to find a copy of "The Final Cut" that will play in anywhere near MINT condition has, in my experience, proved virtually IMPOSSIBLE and it has been incredibly frustrating in all my years on eBay, as I have tried to find the best copies of this wonderful LP to offer you, that I have been unable to find one which plays in what I would consider anything even approaching NEAR MINT condition - but AT LAST I think I have found one!!
This copy not only LOOKS STUNNING AND MINT but it plays ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLY FROM START TO FINISH with NONE of the problems I have ALWAYS encountered on this LP
The *HOLOPHONIC* audio delivery here is absolutely SENSATIONAL – BEAUTIFULLY RICH, SHARP and CRYSTAL CLEAR. The LP plays with TREMENDOUS CLARITY, NO distortion, NO groove-wear (its hardly been played) but most importantly it plays with NONE of the problems always encountered i.e. excessive clicking, popping and surface noise during its many beautiful, delicate, quiet passages. This copy DELIVERS AN ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING LISTENING EXPERIENCE ON EVERY FRONT FROM START TO FINISH and must be very critically graded as MINT(-) (at last!!!!) and a finer copy of this LP I do not think you will ever FIND (I know I haven't). Would be graded as MINT but it has been played, albeit just once or twice. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME (not a word I use very often)
SLEEVE: The original stickered cover is also in BEAUTIFUL condition. (see pics). CLEAN and UNMARKED with very little wear to speak of on either the edges or spine. NEAR MINT
The ORIGINAL BLACK INNER SLEEVE is CLEAN and UNMARKED with NO splits and is in MINT condition. CLEAN, SHARP and FRESH
