M = "Mint" - like new unplayed, usually still in shrinkwrap. NM = "Near Mint": no surface marks should play like new. MINT- = "Mint Minus", no notable scratches or wear, appears very lightly played and handled. VG+ = (Very Good Plus") a used, reasonable copy. There will be some signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
VG = "Very Good" - a well-played copy. There will be signs of wear and likely light to moderate surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages. VG- = "Very Good Minus" - significant wear and marks and usually surface noise.
