WOW!!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original very first STEREO Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” press released in Perú in 1979 by CBS DISCOS DEL PERU S.A./INDUSTRIAL SONO RADIO S.A. (CBS Perú), catalog number S.E. 8476, licensed from CBS USA, matrix numbers: SE-8476 A DI (Side 1), SE-8476 B (Side 2), SE-8476 A 2 HPT (Side 3) and SE8476-B 2 (Side 4). Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!! And see the picture, this record is in superb condition!!! And remember we are very conservatives for grading our records…

“THE WALL” was, is and always will one of the best albums of all time, and this original very first press released in Perú in 1979 is extremely rare. It has a non-gatefold cover non-laminated and made of an only piece of thick paper with back cover on the flips. The title “PINK FLOYD THE WALL” is big and printed in the front cover with black letters and lines which form the bricks are grey. In back cover is the CBS logo and catalog in the lower left corner and in the bottom says: “Distribuído por CBS Discos del Perú, S.A. – Avenida Arenales Nº815, Lima – Perú – Teléfonos: 241944 – 241845. (CBS logo) y CBS – Marcas Registradas de CBS Inc. – Producto Peruano – El disco es cultura”. In the lower right corner is the credits for the company which made the cover: “offset DISCOSA Industria Peruana R.I. 7128”.

In labels, orange CBS with CBS box logo in the center, the title is in English, “THE WALL”, and all songs are listed in English too but translated to Spanish. This early press has some errors which were corrected in later pressings: in label is written “The happiest days our lives” (The happiest days of our lives) is translated like “Los días más felices de nuestras vi das” (Los días más félices de nuestras vidas); the translation for “Another brick in the wall” (Parts I, II and III) is “Otro ladrillo en la pared” for all 3 parts, not mentioning Parts I, II or III; “Is th ere anybody o ut there?” (Is there anybody out there?), “No body home” (Nobody home), “Br ing the boys back home” (Bring the boys back home” and credits for “Run like hell” are for “G.Gilmour-R.Waters”, G. Gilmour??? Yes, it should have been “D.Gilmour”!!!

Yes, yes, yes… This is another REAL FIND, another rarity from South America!!! How many times have you seen this record in eBay before? Very rare and almost impossible to find, Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” early press from Perú with all the errors already mentioned!!! What a find!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in VG or VG+ condition, clean, no missing parts, no rips, very faint ring marks, only very very minimal wear in the mouths and some wearing in the mouth and marks on the cover of some bad storage (not vertical) and residue of a sticker in the top right corner. The record is in superb EX+ or NM- condition, glossy, clean and with minimal light hairlines which don’t affect sound at all. Labels on 3 sides are in NM+ condition, absolutely clean and clear, but in Side 2 of Disc 1 condition is VG- because it has a bad factory printing, it looks like if the printing wasn’t dried when they rub the label against something, but not so bad, it’s still clear and easy to read. The sound is great, it’s in EX or EX+ condition, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some soft pops here and there which don’t distract at all of the amazing sound quality. Overall a record with a superb cover and a great look and sound after 30 years!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Perú (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number.
