Description

Pink Floyd : The Final Cut A1 / B2 1st Press
This FINAL UPGRADE first pressing plays to the highest standard possible.  This has very possibly never been played before and that is reflected in the outstanding audio.  The clarity and depth could not be any better and there is no interference on either side.  Absolutely stunning, a time warp classic!
The gatefold is also in lovely condition with only minimal shelf wear and the original black inner looks untouched.  A stunning 'package'!
Royal Mail shipping costs have massively increased recently and these are shown below.  Please could you wait before making payment so I can calculate the exact cost.

Play grading
'The Post War Dream' has one of the 'cleanest' intros you will ever hear!  Such a quiet intro and yet the clarity is amazing and is of the same 'high end' standard as the vocal begins.  It continues to play nigh on perfectly with only a couple of very minor light static ticks just prior to the 'louder' section.  This then plays 'as new' and final section cannot be faulted either.  This is Near Mint+ and is a superb start to this underrated album.
Again the quiet intro on 'Your Possible Pasts' has to be heard to be believed!  For the stylus to run so 'cleanly' over the grooves is such a rarity and from start to finish this plays with outstanding clarity and every note plays with superb definition.  I have no hesitation in grading this as Mint as it plays as well as it would've done back in '83.
The delicate 'One Of The Few' is of the same immaculate standard and grades as Mint with no 'background' of any kind.  A couple of dust ticks but that does not classify as 'background'!
'The Hero's Return' again provides another example of a vinyl hardly played and plays with remarkable clarity and depth.  There are a couple of mega quiet and brief static 'moments' but you could hardly improve on this audio.  Mint-
A personal favourite 'The Gunners Dream' has the finest piano intro I have heard in many a year with not even a single dust tick.  I am delighted to say the quality is still there as the vocal begins.  Every section on this track is breathtaking and there is no intrusion on the audio whatsoever.  There is the lightest of static just before the final up tempo section and right at the end but in all honesty it is hardly worth a mention as it is so quiet and totally non-intrusive.  This is Mint- in every way.
'Paranoid Eyes' ends a stunning S1 with impeccable audio once more.  The clarity is so impressive you can hear the cat 'miaow' on the intro!  From then on it plays with flawless precision and only a handful of dust ticks.  The acoustic section prior to the final verse has a couple of click type sounds but as any Floyd collector knows they are meant to be there!  A strange addition perhaps but not a fault in the pressing!  The quiet end section has no 'background' either and again Mint is deserved.  What a side!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert' on S2 again has a clarity on the opening grooves that you hardly ever hear.  There is no interference and continues in the same way.  Mint from beginning to end.
'The Fletcher Memorial Home' is stunning and again the clarity and power shine through.  There is only a minimal touch touch of barely audible static in a couple of sections but this is so minor and non-intrusive.  I will grade as Mint- just to be cautious!
The super quiet intro on 'Southampton Dock' is 'as new' and from then on plays with wonderful clarity and precision.  There is no interference and again Mint is deserved.
The title track 'The Final Cut' plays superbly from the outset.  There is just a minimal amount of mega light static on the intro but I am probably doing myself a disservice by even mentioning it, it is so so minor!  Thereafter it plays beautifully with no interference and again I cannot believe the playback here.  The next 'quieter' passage has barely any static and the sonic quality throughout is phenomenal.  Gilmour's solo has no distortion on the top end and to the end it plays as an un-played vinyl should - with imperious quality and no obvious 'background'.  A stunning Mint- version.
The high octane 'Not Now John' plays with great power and definition from the first groove to the last.  It is just so obvious this vinyl has hardly been played, if ever!  There is clarity and then there is clarity like this!  You would expect perhaps some audio deterioration on such a 'loud' track and yet there is none.  This is Mint in every single way.  Wow what a version!
'Two Suns In the Sunset' ends the album with, you guessed it, sublime quality from start to finish.  This largely acoustic number plays with a clarity that quite simply could not be improved upon.  Every note is so succinct and even the fade out plays with 'as new' precision.  A Mint finish for sure.
In summary this FINAL UPGRADE First press has in my opinion only been on a turntable once, if that.  It certainly plays with a clarity, warmth and precision that only an un-played vinyl can and there is just no interference of any kind.  No clicks, pops, skips or crackle and to be honest no obvious static either.  It may be a 'Waters' solo album but is not a 'Wall' offcut and every track is strong in my opinion.  It's so rare to find a 'new' first press and I can assure any avid collector they will not be disappointed by this.  It is STUNNING in every way!
Visual grading
This now 37 year old vinyl is in beautiful condition and visually is stunning in every way.  It has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen and just looks like it has never been played before!  There are no marks, scratches or hairlines and there is no spindle wear on the labels either.  The run out grooves are also perfect and put simply it could not look any better!  It does have a very 'kink' but it is most definitely not a warp.  It is very minor and does not affect the stylus in any way.
The Gatefold
The cover is also near perfect with barely any wear.  It remains very strong like it hasn't been handled and the edges have barely any rubbing.  The wide spine has only a couple of minor white 'specks' and all corners are also in superb shape with no obvious rubbing.  The opening edge has no handling wear either.  The front cover (with original sticker) has just one very small white 'mark' but is otherwise perfect and the back cover is even better!  The inside of the gatefold has only one minor 'rub' at the foot of each lyric side but remains in superb condition with an inner spine that has no damage.  You won't find many better than this!
The Inner Sleeve
The original black poly-lined inner is 'as new' with no side splits or tears, no marking and barely any creasing.
The Labels
They are also 'as new' with no marking or writing and no spindle wear at all!
