Stunning Original 1973 UK 1st Pressing 'Dark Side of the Moon' by Pink Floyd. Absolutely Stunning Vinyl & 1st Press Sleeve!!! True UK 1973 1st Press A2//B2 Matrix, Thick Heavyweight Vinyl, w/ Solid Blue Prism & The Gramophone Co.' Centre Label Text. Complete with 1st Press 'Blue Tinged' Gatefold Sleeve which is Factory Sealed at One End, Original Black 'White Patents Text ' Windowed Inner and 1st Press Rough Textured Posters & Stickers!!! Impossible to Find In This Condition!!!
From my own pristine Nr Mint collection of rare 1960's & 70's Prog/Psych/Rock & Folk, you are bidding on one of the most sought-after UK 1st pressings of all time; the mega-scarce Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd; one of the most important and influential records ever made. It is in absolutely Stunning Condition!!! It is the original thick & chunky 1973 UK 1st PRESSING with the A2//B2 1st press Matrix on the Solid Blue Prism Label with 'Gramophone Co. Ltd' and 'Made in Gt. Britain' centre label text and original 1st Press blue-tinged sleeve, (factory sealed at one end). It is fully complete with its original black windowed poly-lined inner sleeve (with white printed cat number) & both 1st Press Posters & both 1st press stickers!!! It is very important to note all of the following characteristics of this record which mark it as a true UK 1st pressing as so often components are switched by and swapped around by dealers. Firstly and perhaps most important are the solid blue triangle, 'Gramophone Co.' centre label text and A//2 B//2 matrix on the disc. Only the very first UK pressing came with these characteristics. However just as important in my point of view is the 1st press gatefold sleeve which MUST have a blue tinge to it and MUST be factory sealed at one end is it is to be considered as a UK 1st pressing. And when I say factory sealed, I do not just mean glued together - one end MUST be sealed by being folded in on itself as this one is. Then we get to the 1st press poly-lined windowed inner sleeve which must be black, die-cut and must have the 'patents' text and made in Great Britain' test printed in white. Lastly, both posters will have a textured paper feel and NOT a shiny laminated feel and the stickers should be made by the Fastprint company. Without ALL these characteristics present, the record is not a true 1st pressing!!! I am happy to say that this record meets all of the strict UK 1st Press criteria - not only that but it is in absolutely STUNNING condition throughout!! Please read on for a detailed description and see the images - this is a superb example of a a very rare record!
This is one of the very best examples of this rare 1st press I have ever come across in all my years of record collecting. The cool 1970's thick and chunky vinyl is in visually and aurally stunning condition - almost FLAWLESS! It shines with the 'just pressed' look and feel of a record that was made yesterday. I want to give you every detail of the record, no matter how small, so check out the description below and if you are not sure of anything just ask... I'm always happy to help. You really do not want to miss adding this pristine rarity to your collection.

The all-important solid blue prism Centre Labels are Mint- superb with NO Peeling, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind. The labels have no major issues at all. There are only a few light spindle marks as you would expect. The centre spindle holes and gramophone rims containing the all important matrix are mint!!! The vinyl looks absolutely stunning. It is vary hard to find copies of this LP that look like this, on the rare occasions that the do turn up they are full of nasty scratches and gouges. This one is NOT!!! It looks absolutely stunning with NO Scratches and No groove wear at all!!! It has just the occasional paper line on each side (simply caused by removing the record fro its inner sleeve) and a very light non-sounding hairline between tracks one & two on side two. You have to look very hard to see it. The thick quality pressed chunky 1970's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!) and it must easily visually grade as Excellent+!!! There are no nasty loud pops and no jumps/skipping etc. Although it looks almost perfect, this record does however play with crackle, with the run-ins and intros being especially heavy, it stays as light background crackle once the songs kick but does fade somewhat as each side progresses. You wouldn't expect this level of crackle from looking at the surface as there is no groove wear whatsoever and each side has a just pressed look but please be aware that it is present and like I say, quite heavy during the first tracks of each side and all subsequent quiet passages. Now we get to the sleeve, and before we go any further a word of warning, as mentioned above some record dealers like to add repressed Garrod & Lofthouse sleeves to 1st Press DSOTM discs. This is a ploy to increase the overall condition of the album, thus making it sell for a higher price. However, all true 1st press DSOTM sleeves have a matt blue tinge to them, they are not completely black (or glossy) like the later repressed sleeves, always look closely at the colour of the gatefold sleeve before buying a true UK 1st press DSOTM. This is a true 1st press sleeve, with a beautiful blue hue and one end factory sealed with a 'fold over' seal - and what's more, it is in superb condition. It retains ALL of its factory matt sheen and has NO Ring wear, NO Tears, No Seam wear, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! It is completely blemish free!!! The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with and a good Near Mint spine!!! If I was to be really fussy I could say that there is very light wear to the corners resulting n a little loss of ink on each tip and with a minor bend in the very tip of the bottom right corner. There is also a short patch of wear in the centre top edge of the back gatefold and one of two line indents (line a pencil) if you angle the sleeve directly against strong light, but like I said before these are all very minor and I'm being incredible fussy here as I want to give you every detail of the record, no matter how small. This is a beautiful sleeve and easily grades as Ex!!! Just take a look at the pictures below to see for yourself. Both 1st Press Posters and both 1st Press Stickers are Mint!!! The stickers are nice flat and unpeeled, and the posters are Mint flat and folded. The posters of stickers look like thy have never been removed from inside the sleeve!!! Of course - this 1st Press LP would not be complete without its true Original 'Black' 'Poly-lined windowed inner sleeve containing the correct Made In Great Britain' and 'Patent No's' White Text which in excellent condition!!!
Please check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price! Good luck with this one - do not forget that you are bidding on a UK 1st Press which is guaranteed 100% complete with ALL its original factory made 1st press components, from the record/sleeve right down to the inner sleeve, posters and postcards, everything is authentic 1st press!!! This is exactly as it came off the masters!!! Due to the value of this record I will only ship it via insured mail.
Dark Side of the Moon is seen by many as the best progressive record ever made- and 100% Original 1st Press copies in this kind of condition are simply no longer available to buy, they are all housed in serious Mint collections and will probably not see the light of day again. As such, when one does become available today it usually changes hands for a lot of money. If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise - especially in this condition. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own!!! Don't miss this one!!!
Please note - due to the value of this record it will only be shipped via insured delivery - see insured shipping prices below, and we will accept Paypal from NON-UK bidders only - if you are in the UK Payment is via personal cheque, postal order or (recorded) cash. If you are in the UK and you pay via Paypal your payment will be refunded!!! I have tried to show you the record from all angles using extra large images. If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a UK 1st press of this LP in this kind of condition is impossible today; Good Luck!
Please read - It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting some images from my pages - please don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record - whoever does this is not being fair to the buyer. Thanks for reading.
I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition and have 3-figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK at a £2.99 start with No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment for the best part of 20-30 years!
All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

Postage ... Hazey Jane has absolutely NO hidden surcharges; the price you win is the price you pay, just add the relevant postage, it's as simple as that! We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.
A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards. If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...
Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.
We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
