PINK FLOYD Piper At The Gates Of Dawn 1967 1st Mono

XAX 3419-2 / XAX 3420-1 (both stamped)
Genuine 1st press Mono in very good condition. The sleeve has no "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups" indicating that it was one of the earlier pressed. The vinyl has a high sheen and under bright light, numerous fine light hairlines and sleeve removal lines are visible.
I have played the entire record on my Rega RP3 with ELYS2 cartridge and it sounds very good throughout with only light background crackle more pronounced in the quieter sections.
Here is a genuine piece of musical history - an excellent copy of Pink Floyd's first ever LP!
This has the following 1st press matrix numbers and mother stampers:
Side 1: XAX 3419-1 1 P
Side 2: XAX 3420-1 1 G
Detailed description
Vinyl:
The vinyl l has retained its original bright high sheen. Under bright light, numerous hairlines and sleeve removal lines are visible but there are no deep scratches. I have played the entire record and it plays well with some background crackle particularly in the quieter sections and between tracks.
Labels:
Both labels look clean with some typical spindle lines.
Sleeve:
This is an original, complete example with no "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups" printed on the top flip-back. It has a few creases and some light age related staining to the rear. There are no splits, tears, writing or stickers etc and just typical signs of use.
The spine is solid and firm and the text is all 100% readable.
There is the typical light wear at the corners.
Inner sleeve:
Original black and white earlier EMI advertising inner sleeve. No splits, tears or damage, just some age related staining and signs of age and use. Pink Floyd is written on one side.
