PINK FLOYD Pinky LP cloth bound spine ~ Blue labels ~ DJ 3003!
Original unofficial LP, country of original unknown/not stated. Released in ? (Estimated release date, very early 1970’s) on the ? Label. Catalogue number: DJ 3003. The only identifying marks on the record are D.J. 3003 A/B etched faintly in the run out and penned titled plain blue labels on the record. The cover is plain white (although this one has been artistically designed/signed and dated in fine pen) comes with a cloth based tape, sealing the spine and the word 'Pinky' hand written on the top right hand corner, comes complete with the original British Patent printed paper/poly lined inner sleeve.
MATRIX NUMBERS READ:
A-side: DJ 3003 A (lightly etched in run out)
B-side: DJ 3003 B (lightly etched in run out)
Historical notes: The recording is quite muffled and audience can just about be heard in the quiet bits of Interstellar Overdrive. Labels are penned with Atom Heart Mother on the A-side and Embryo/Interstellar overdrive on the B-side. The original white sleeve has been penned with an interesting unique artwork design, and signed on the bottom front right hand corner and also on the back. PINKY is written on the front top right hand corner. Overall an interesting sounding/artistic piece of musical history.
Sleeve: VERY GOOD+ CONDITION
Original generic sleeve has been penned and signed with interesting artwork, Pinky is written on the top right hand corner, it has been taped along the spine edge, and was originally designed/sold like this as it has only one fold over edge on the top inside sleeve and the spine wasn’t sealed at the time, some small light sleeve foxing marks evident in places. Overall graded as in VERY GOOD+ condition. Displays no rips/tears, no edge wear, no seem splits and no sleeve creases. Original Inner paper/poly lined inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition, some browning with age and some light corner creases owing to handling and storage, displays no splits or tears.
Record: EXCELLENT CONDITION (*Plays mostly EXCELLENT/VERY GOOD)
Record labels are in EXCELLENT condition, clean with no damage, however they have been penned neatly on the corresponding sides and there are a few small light visible traces of spindle hole markings showing on both sides. Playing surfaces and matrix areas appear in EXCELLENT condition, retaining their original full glossy sheen on both sides, slight partial misting is evident on the matrix areas with some minor variations of superficial sheen press (minor traces of dulling ~ when angled under light) on the playing surfaces, however this is typical of pressing of this nature and conforms admirably to the standards of equivalent period live pressings/records. Record displays a few tiny (minimal and almost negligible) ultra-light fine line surface scuffs which are only evident when angled and viewed very closely under a strong bright light. Overall record is graded visually as EXCELLENT. *Record plays EXCELLENT varying to VERY GOOD on both sides, mainly a clean sound throughout, although not crystal and slightly muffled in places, emits some intermittent light (low level), mild, & sometimes more moderate crackle on both sides, with the B-side slightly more prominent, however I would equate the play grading to the actual pressing and not any wear through playing. Have graded EXCELLENT/VERY GOOD to accommodate. Downsizing my personal collection: Interesting genuine historical period recording from Pink Floyd with unique designed artwork sleeve and playable early live vinyl recording.
