Over the next few weeks and months I will be listing a quite lovely collection of Pink Floyd albums.
These will all be at least decent playing copies, but mostly will be of excellent quality, some even better than that. They will include some UK 1st pressings, and if not they will be extremely early pressings. All matrix/mother/stamper combinations will be listed (so long as they are readable!) so you can tell exactly what you are bidding on. All gradings are by visual examination and by play-grading, strictly to record collector guidelines.
So here we have Pink Floyds venture into film soundtracks for the film "The Valley" from 1972. The first UK pressing with corrected matrices A2 / B2 "OBSCURED BY CLOUDS".
The original first pressing with the A1 / B1 matrix was swiftly removed from sale due to the excessive sibilance on the recording. Once this was rectified, the A2 / B2 matrix was released. A much smoother recording that was more pleasing to the ear. This is the A2 / B2 pressing. Mothers and stampers on this are extremely early examples. 2 RH and 2 MG.
This has been fully and strictly play-graded, and all parts inspected and reported in detail. Please digest the full information below.
The cover. So prone to wear being quite a flimsy card construction. This has stood the test of time well, and the only issue of note is a little rubbing to the spine. I have no problem grading this quite harshly as VG+.
Inner sleeve. In a pretty exceptional condition. This is the company inner advertising other releases around the same time. No damage of note. Grades as Ex.
The vinyl surfaces visually are in superb condition, without any marks of note. This lovely vinyl visually grades as excellent.
The sound quality has been fully play-graded, strictly to record collector guidelines. The audio is crisp and clear throughout. Nice detail and clarity. I have not found any issues worth mentioning. It looks hardly played and the labels are nice and clean with hardly a trace of spindle marks. Happy to grade as excellent.
In the sale I have included an original flyer for the movie. These are highly collectable and clearly shown in the photos. In near perfect condition.
Whoever wins this will be extremely happy I am certain.
All albums will be housed in a brand new heavy duty polythene cover. All vinyl's will be housed in a new anti-static inner sleeve. I pack my albums for transit in the most secure packaging imaginable and send next day delivery postage with The Royal Mail. I only charge exactly what it costs me, sometimes less!
I accept returns if I am notified as soon as possible after you receive the album. This has to be due to it being wrongly described. Not just for a change of mind. I take the time to provide quality photographs of the album, along with a detailed description, so please respect this.
I will post overseas, but not to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. Postage within the EU is around £17. Worldwide postage is around £26. If these prices differ once I have packed and weighed them, I will refund the difference immediately.
