Obscured By Clouds A - 1/ B - 1 (First Pressing)
On offer here is a very early first pressing of this often under-rated LP. It is always overshadowed by what came next! It is without doubt one of the best A1/B1 pressings I have ever heard. Strangely there is no mother number on Side Two.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in lovely condition with only a few fine hairlines and a small area of faint marks on S2 that have no affect on the audio. There are no deep scratches to be seen and whilst the record has been played a number of times, due to the amount of spindle wear, it has obviously been very carefully handled as the audio plays to a very high standard as described below.
Play grading
The title track begins with a little crackle but disappears after a few seconds and then plays with stunning quality. Whenever I hear this LP I think one, how underrated it is and two, how well it was recorded i.e. how clear the production is and how loud in the mix the music was put down on vinyl. 'When You're In' plays as close to Mint as is possible and whilst 'Burning Bridges' plays with just a touch of very minor static in a handful of places it is very much in the background and remains a quality listen. The final two tracks play in the same way. It is so rare to find an A1/B1 pressing playing as well as this. The clarity, depth and sound level is stunning and for the majority the audio plays as new. There are no clicks or pops to be heard anywhere. There are not enough superlatives to describe this audio. For such a quiet track 'Mudmen' plays so clearly and with barely any background noise. A stunning end to Side One.
There is no lead in static to 'Childhood's End' and then the quiet intro plays so cleanly which is such a rarity for a genuine first press. The track proceeds to play with a wonderful bass sound (love the bass on this album!) and no interference. This is Mint audio again and 'Free Four' matches that quality. 'Stay' has minor static at the beginning and one pop but the remainder plays very clearly with perhaps just a little quiet static here and there. 'Absolutely Curtains' again plays with faint static here and there but perhaps I am overplaying it as the audio is still of excellent quality.
Cover
The G & L textured cover is in excellent condition with only very minor shelf wear. Overall the edges are extremely clean apart from on the top edge where the record has caused a small area of wear but has not cut through. The thin pinched spine is in near perfect shape and remains 100% legible. The rounded corners are also in superb condition. The opening edge looks like it hasn't been handled at all and there are no marks on the cover anywhere. Overall this cover has been very well looked after with the only wear on the top edge. Rare to find one in this condition.
Inner sleeve
This has the first inner that was included with this album confirming again how early a first pressing this is. The die-cut polylined Harvest inner has the 'Ummagumma' and 'The Madcap Laughs' album covers on it among others. It is in excellent condition with no splits, only minor creasing.
Labels
They are both in lovely condition with no marks or writing, just some spindle wear.
