Description
This first press of 'More' is in all honesty the best I have ever sold. I have play tested the LP in its entirety (not certain sections like so many sellers!) and the audio is sublime. Side One plays with so little background noise it was a real pleasure to listen to! The final three tracks from 'Green Is The Colour' do play with a little crackle but it is in no way intrusive. 'Cymbaline' does have a few light clicks but when you consider this LP was released 45 years ago the sound plays with great clarity with no jumps or skips at all.
'Main Theme' on Side Two plays superbly well with only a few of the lightest clicks. It plays almost as Mint it is that good. This sound quality continues right to the end of the side and 'More Blues' and 'Quicksilver' are stunning. For such quiet tracks there is no background noise at all apart from one pop on the latter at the beginning. So good you would think the vinyl was only pressed this year. The final two tracks also play with the same quality of audio.
Visually, as you would expect, the vinyl looks stunning also. It is only under an intense light that you can see the faintest of hairlines but only a few and I would say they have only been caused by sleeve removal. If anyone is after a first of 'More' with wonderful audio sound then this is the LP to own. I never over grade as my feedback testifies and this vinyl plays so well, not quite perfect, but a fantastic listen nonetheless and it retains that glossy new look of new vinyl. It has obviously hardly been played in its 'lifetime' and has been superbly looked after. Play tested on my Technics SL-J110R turntable system.

The laminated Garrod & Lofthouse cover is the best I have seen. Being a first press the back cover has the green tint with the couple facing west. It only has the slightest wear and is in wonderful condition for its age. There is a little rubbing on the bottom two corners and a few very small creases towards the edges of the laminate. This is particularly common with laminate but I haven't seen one as unaffected as this one. The edges are in superb shape with no shelf wear whatsoever and the thin pinched spine is of the same condition and looks 'as new' really. The flipback cover has 'File under Popular : Pop Groups' and the catalogue number SCX 6346 printed in the top right hand corner and '6907 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent No.943,895 SCX 6346'. It is the cleanest one I have seen. So often the flipback collects dust and dirt but this one has only collected very little. This one is without doubt the best I have seen.
The labels are in excellent condition with only a little spindle wear. No writing or marks at all. They have just the one white EMI logo at the bottom unlike the later presses that have two. The original white inner sleeve has no rips or splits at all and is in excellent condition. It has 16 LP covers on each side including 'Sgt Peppers' and 'Piper'. With just a few faint creases it is again the best I have seen.
Side One I would grade as Ex+
Side Two is Near Mint-
The laminated cover Ex++
The labels are Near Mint-
The inner sleeve is Ex++
