Description
This is the first Australian pressing of this, the sixteenth album released by Pink Floyd. It still has the record company's promotional sticker on the cover. The vinyl on both records is clean and shiny, with only a few minor scuffs from being taken in and out of the cover. All sides play loud and clear, with only very low level surface noise on the lead in tracks, not audible when the music is playing(VG+). The cover is also in great condition,it still has a dull sheen on both front and back, however there is some light ring wear evident when held at an angle to the light, and there is a small dent in the top of the front cover just above the "l" and the "o" in the word "Floyd", and a faint crease around the out line of the record on the top right hand side of the back cover, just under the catalog number, but there are no serious creases and no tears or writing, and the spine is still intact(VG). Both the inserts are clean and in good condition with some small creases, but no tears or writing(VG) and the inner gate fold of the cover is in VG+ condition. The album was recorded over five nights at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York in August 1988 and mixed at Abbey Road Studios in September 1988.("Delicate Sound of Thunder" became the first rock album to be played in space, by Soviet cosmonauts aboard Soyuz TM-7).
