Description
For sale here is a stunning copy of Pink Floyds most iconic title. "The Dark Side of The Moon". UK 1st pressing with midnight blue cover, both posters, both postcard/stickers and the solid blue triangle labels with A2 / B2 matrix numbers. A 100% genuine example in great shape.
- Midnight blue cover is in a really nice condition (I have taken a photo of the blue cover next to a black one to show the distinct difference clearly). No shelf-wear worthy of mention. A very light crease to bottom left hand corner of the rear. Some colour loss at the corners of the opening edge. Has been stored in a heavy gauge polythene cover for several years now. Still a really nice example and very conservatively graded as very good plus (VG+).
- Vinyl is in terrific shape. No marks worthy of note. Very very well cared for example. 140 grams in weight. Matrices are A2 / B2, the earliest of course. Side one mother/stamper is 2/HR. Side two is 2/GO. These are REALLY early numbers indeed. The labels are nice and clean and show just a handful of spindle trails to each side. A fully detailed play grading will be listed further through this listing. Graded as visually excellent plus (Ex+).
- Both posters are in great shape without damage. They are on a heavier matte paper than the glossy ones issued with later copies There is no pin holes, blue-tack or tape. These posters are as good as you will find. Graded as excellent plus (Ex+).
- Both sticker/postcards are present. The lighter one is pristine. The darker one has a light crease but still in great shape. Graded as excellent plus (Ex+) / and excellent (EX).
- The original black inner sleeve is almost perfect. Hardly a crease worthy of the name. Again, it is hard to imagine a better example. Has the patent number etc in silver print as per first press and has no slits or tears at all. Grades as excellent plus (Ex+).
Please check out my other listings. I am currently selling a UK 1st pressing of "A saucerful of secrets" with 1G / 1G mother stampers and earliest spelling error on label, plus all Magdelene Music credits. Truly one of the first 500 mono copies pressed. Very rare.
All albums will be housed in a brand new heavy duty polythene cover. All vinyl's will be housed in a new anti-static inner sleeve. I pack my albums for transit in the most secure packaging imaginable and send 1st class signed for postage with The Royal Mail. I only charge exactly what it costs me! Royal Mail have just increased their prices once again, so 1st class signed for now costs £5.05p. If the album reaches a reasonable amount (£750+) I will pay the extra myself to have special next day delivery for it, with insurance.
I accept returns if I am notified immediately upon you receiving the album. This has to be due to it being wrongly described. Not just for a change of mind. I take the time to provide quality photographs of the album, along with a detailed description, so please respect this.
I will post overseas if you contact me first, due to issues in the past and ebays new postage rules it is in both our interests to do so. Failing to contact me first may mean I cancel your bid.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL I POST TO RUSSIA OR ANY OF ITS ALLIES, SO DON'T BOTHER ASKING OR BIDDING. YOUR BID WILL BE CANCELLED.

Just a word of warning to potential buyers, and I am sure that this is not really necessary.
Be very careful when buying copies of this album. Please ensure that you are not being sold a copy with posters and cards added that are from later issues and not genuine first press. The postcard/stickers obviously are 2 different colours, but the darker one should be a muddy brown colour. I see an example on ebay now that is quite orange in colour. This is not a genuine first issue. Also, the borders on the posters is wider on first issues, and much thinner on later issues. Just be careful that what is being advertised actually IS what it says it is. This goes for the blue tinged cover as well of course!! Be aware and happy bidding. Just a word before anybody gets caught out.
Please be careful when buying a first press of this Floyd album. Sellers have been known frequently to substitute posters and/or stickers from later copies. The darker of the 2 stickers should be a muddy brown colour to be the genuine first issue. There is currently one for sale (as many before it) that have a later issue which is a very different colour and is actually quite orange shaded. This is quite obvious and hard to mistake. Also, the posters on genuine first issue have a much wider white border than later examples, and again is very hard to miss once you are aware of it. Please just be careful that what you are bidding on IS exactly what it says it is.price rating
