Up for auction is the legendary UHQR box of PINK FLOYD'S classic 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' manufactured by  M O B I L E  F I D E L I T Y  S O U N D  L A B  in 1981. This Ultra High Quality Record (UHQR) was made by MFSL in a Limited Edition custom pressing of 5.000 pieces with this box being #2.793. The pressing was made from the master stamper at the VICTOR Company of Japan (JVC) plant in Yokohama during May, 1981. The box is complete coming with all its' paperwork (UHQR signed Certificate, Technical Specifications Manual) and is in EXCELLENT condition!

The original heavy duty UHQR BOX is still in EXCELLENT- condition, all eight corners are tight, the inside pocket of the lid carrying the UHQR paperwork is in perfect condition, there's NO unwanted writing to the BOX, NO cut-out holes, NO scratches etc. The BOX displays a bit of shelf-wear and a slight corner ding to the top right hand side of the lid. The bottom of the BOX is close to NEAR MINT.
The ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING COVER would easily grade as being MINT if there wasn't a 3 inch split to the top seam (please have a look at the photo). Due to the heavy-weight record inside the COVER originally arrived here like this! Bit of a shame. Apart from this defect the COVER shows NO unwanted writing, NO creasing, NO tears, NO shelf-wear, etc. All four corners are in perfect condition. Bearing that seam split in mind I will conservatively grade the RECORD COVER as being VG+.

Both sides of the heavy-weight vinyl RECORD are in fantastic condition, jet-black and mirror-like!!!! There's not a single scuff or scratch to report of! Under optical inspection this RECORD will easily grade as EXCELLENT+! Listening back to the RECORD for the first time in many, many years I noticed some background noises/crackles, especially in the quieter passages of the album and the run-in grooves. I'm cleaning my RECORDS with a Blue-Danube cleaning machine – maybe your machine will get this album into a crackle-free condition again! Nevertheless it's still A LOT OF FUN listening to the dynamic range of this UHQR pressing – ROGER WATERS' bass is running right into your room...!!! I will grade this RECORD as EXCELLENT! If you're looking for a MINT copy of this rarity, this copy is not the one for you and I highly recommend the sealed copy that is currently offered on eBay for GBP 1.000,00!

Both record LABELS are in NEAR MINT condition, there are NO spidermarks around the spindle-holes!

EXCELLENT: The Record Shows Some Signs Of Having Been Played, But There Is Very Little Lessening In Sound Quality. The Cover And Packaging Might Have Slight Wear And / Or Creasing.

VERY GOOD: The Record Has Obviously Been Played Many Times, But Displays No Major Deterioration In Sound Quality, Despite Noticeable Surface Marks And The Occasional Light Scratch. Normal Wear And Tear On The Cover Or Extra Items, Without Any Major Defects, Is Acceptable.
