Description
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's 1-017 pressing of Pink Floyd's iconic "Dark Side of the Moon". Bought by me in the early eighties at one of the Harrogate Audio Fairs. If memory serves , it was in the Absolute Sound room at the St George Hotel.
Played four times and then professionally cleaned and stored.
Condition as follows - the heavy plastic outer is present , but creased on the reverse and shows tearing on both top and bottom edges. The internal record protector is excellent apart from very minor folding to the front r/h edge. The warranty card is excellent, one tiny crease in one corner. The static-free inner sleeve is excellent , no rips or tears. There are two posters , both free of rips but creased where they have been folded in the record jacket over the years. The postcard sized Pink Floyd card is flat and tear free.
The gatefold sleeve is generally excellent , no staining or major marks , just some age-related small crease marks to the spine and the top and bottom free edges. The record plays perfectly and is free of any scratching or marks. It has been cleaned in a VPI machine and stored upright. The matrix information in the runout area of the disc shows the following information - on side one it is MFSL-1-017 A2-1 / SR and on side two it's the same but with a B instead of an A. In both cases , underneath this info are the initials SR which refer to Stan Ricker who did the mastering and lacquer cutting. Just to be clear , the heavy plastic outer referred to is the protective clear plastic cover that the actual record sleeve itself sits in. There is no photo of it , just thought it was worth mentioning as it's an original part. Thanks.
