Description

Pink Floyd : The Dark Side Of The Moon A3 / B3 + Posters/Stickers
This is known as the third stereo pressing and to say it plays well is an understatement!  The clarity and sonic quality on both sides in amazing and there is no interference on either side.  It is without doubt one of finest versions of an early A3/B3 pressing that you are ever likely to see or hear!  There are no clicks, pops or crackle and only a very minimal amount of light static - hardly any in fact!  The depth and warmth of the audio is so impressive and this easily qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE pressing.  Not only that but the record could not look any better, it is immaculate, and has been so well preserved down the years.  A time warp classic it has only been played once maybe twice in my opinion. It has just one barely visible spindle trace!
The iconic cover is in excellent shape with only a little wear on the edges and it comes complete with the original posters and stickers which are 'as new'.  The original inner has hardly any wear either.
Royal Mail shipping costs have massively increased recently and these are shown below.  Please could you wait before making payment so I can calculate the exact cost.

Play grading
The 'heartbeat' intro on 'Speak To Me' has barely any 'background', rarely do you hear such stunning clarity and is hopefully a sign of good things to come!  The 'spoken' section has just one light tick and this is one of the 'cleanest' intros you will find.  A Near Mint start.
The segue into 'Breathe' is perfect and the intro has only a couple of light dust ticks.  The first verse is nigh on perfect and the second verse is exactly that, perfect.  The clarity and depth of the audio is again outstanding.  Mint-
When you find a clean vinyl like this one 'On The Run' always plays with superb sonic quality and this is no exception.  From start to finish this is 'as new' and even the 'running man' section exudes tremendous clarity, just 3/4 barely audible dust ticks.  You can hear each breath so clearly!  This is a Mint- version.
The 'clock' intro on 'Time' plays perfectly with no distortion and continues in much the same way.  The opening instrumental section has no interference and the first verse is more than equal to that.  There is literally no 'background' and from then on plays to the same immaculate standard.  The iconic guitar solo is so strong and to the end it plays as it would've done in '73.  A stunning Mint- version again.  Thus far you cannot fault the audio on this side, not one click or pop!  No interference at all basically!
'Breathe Reprise' is just as good if not better!  Not even a dust tick so is Mint I am confident in saying.
The piano intro on 'The Great Gig In The Sky' has barely any static and the 'vocal' begins the power and depth of the audio is again astonishing.  For once there is no distortion and you can hear each 'note' so clearly.  This truly is a stunning section and once you reach the 'high octane' section there is no let up in quality.  The quieter end section then plays with a clarity that you so rarely find on these final grooves with no interference.  Some mega light dusts maybe but you get that on new vinyl let alone one of this advanced age!  To the final note the playback is exceptional and this is without question one of the best versions I have heard in a long time.  It is Near Mint although arguably many would grade higher.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the word go the intro on 'Money' is 'as new' with not one iota of interference.  The first two verses play with sublime precision and it continues in the same way, the clarity and definition cannot be faulted.  The long instrumental provides more than enough evidence of that - the playback is phenomenal!  Every section is 'as new' and you would not think think this was an early A3/B3 pressing!  This is how audio should heard, vinyl provides so much more depth and warmth compared to any other medium and it is here in abundance!  The final verse is of the same standard and the end 'spoken' section also plays beautifully.  This classic track is Mint in every way.
'Us And Them' has only very minimal static on the intro but this is so quiet and totally non-intrusive.  There are no clicks or pops and this entire opening section is still Near Mint.  The opening verse has no 'background' and the first chorus is of the same 'high end' standard.  It continues in the same precise way and again you're just shaking your head in disbelief at the quality on offer here!  The intro may be Near Mint but the remainder is Mint it just could not play any better.  That is not me over-selling it as that is just not in my interests.  This is audio of the highest quality and I just write what my ears tell me!  This is a STUNNING version and to the end it is 'as new' I cannot say fairer than that.
The segue into 'Any Colour You Like' is perfect and it continues in the same way with superb sonic quality.  Mint again :-)
The opening grooves on 'Brain Damage' play with wonderful quality, just one barely audible tick, and continues to impress.  The first two verses are flawless and as the volume increases?  Wow you will not hear better!  The depth here is outstanding and for once there is no distortion, that is so rare I can tell you!  With just one mega light tick prior to the final chorus this really is a stunning version and Mint- is more than deserved.
I am delighted to say 'Eclipse' is just as good and I cannot stress again how rare this is.  So often these two final classics play with a fair amount of intrusive distortion and yet there is none here whatsoever.  They are absolutely stunning and yes you can easily turn them up to maximum!  The super quiet 'heartbeat' has very impressive clarity once more and overall this track provides a Mint- finish to this classic album.
In summary this FINAL UPGRADE early pressing plays with wonderful quality on both sides and there is not one click or pop and barely any static.  The production levels on this album are second to none and when you find a clean vinyl such as this the depth and warmth of the audio cannot be beaten.  This is a sensational version and to think this is a very early A3/B3 pressing!  The sonic quality throughout more than explains why we listen to vinyl.
Visual grading
In my opinion this stunning vinyl has only been played once, maybe twice judging by its immaculate visual quality and its audio quality of course.  I have never seen an A3/B3 pressing as visually stunning as this and I can only detect one very small faint spindle trace on the S1 label.  It really is a beautiful vinyl with no marks or scratches and I cannot find any hairlines either.  The grooves are so 'clean' it is so obvious this record has hardly ever been on a turntable.  The run out grooves are also in perfect condition with no marking.
The Gatefold
The cover is in excellent condition with only minimal shelf wear.  The top edges have some rubbing and there is a little more on the bottom ones but they remain strong.  The spine has only a little wear on the corners and the right hand corners are very clean with barely any wear.  The opening edge is 'as new' and looks untouched.  The front cover is in superb order with no marking and as can be seen it has the original sticker top left.  The back cover is almost as good with only minor ringwear.  The inside of the gatefold is near perfect with only a couple of very faint small marks and for once there is hardly any spotting/fading.  A fine example overall.
The Posters and Stickers
The original posters are in superb condition with no marking/spotting and no creasing.  As good as new basically!  The Fasprint/Crack Back stickers (with four brown diagonal stripes on the reverse) are equally as good.  I would say all of them have hardly ever been removed from the cover!
The Inner Sleeve
The die-cut plain white inner has no side splits, only minimal creasing and just the one very faint mark.  It has 'Patent Nos 1,125,555' and 'Made in Great Britain' printed on one side.
The Labels
Never seen better on such an early pressing!  The prism retains its colour perfectly on both sides and there is no marking or writing.  As stated there is just one mega faint spindle trace on the S1 label.
