PINK FLOYD Atom Heart Mother 1970 1st UK PRESS EX/EX+

All records I offer for sale on eBay have been carefully cleaned on my vacuum record cleaning machine and played in full on quality hi-fi to give accurate grading. Details:- . Here we have a mega rare and very well looked after genuine 1970 1st UK pressing of Pink Floyd's classic album 'Atom Heart Mother'.  It has very the 1st pressing matrix number SHVL 781 - A -1G/ B -1G. and all the other first pressing features. "The gramophone co. Ltd" on the outer rim of the label, no EMI logo, all later pressings had the logo and EMI records on the rim. Another difference that distinguishes this from 2nd pressings is that it has the sound of a tap dripping on the run out grooves on side 2, if you don't have a return arm on your deck the drip will run continuously. This ONLY appears on 1st pressings.  This record also comes with original Harvest advertising inner sleeve. A very well looked after 39 year old vinyl rarity.

Vinyl Condition:- Grades visually and aurally as an EX+. Great sound quality throughout, even the very quiet parts featuring just talking, sound effects, water etc are not spoilt by any trackwear or clicks. Superb! Fully test played on Garrard 501 Prototype Turntable, Rogers E40A Valve Amp and Quad 57 Electrostatic Speakers

Sleeve Condition:- A decent EX.  No ringwear, no unwanted writing, no creasing. Three very small, light blemishes on the front and back. You can just about see a couple in my photos - one near the cows ear and another near the upper part of spine.  They are not at all serious but I must mention every point. There is very light wear down the spine probably caused by a little finger marking but again this nothing much at all. Spine is crisp and fully readable as you can see from my very clear close-up photos. Overall really nice condition for a non-laminated 39 year old sleeve.  Inside the gatefold is clean and unmarked. Print colours are strong and vibrant.

Label Condition:- Clean labels with a few light spindle marks and no wear around spindle hole

 This record seldom comes up for sale and even less so in such well looked after condition as this one. Don't miss your chance!

Grading Abbreviations

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
