ANIMALS A-3U / B-4U
This A3/B4 pressing is in stunning condition and the vinyl has obviously been hardly played such is the quality. The lyric inner also has no splits!

Visual grading
Under a strong bright light I can only see a handful of very faint hairlines no doubt caused by sleeve removal. There are certainly no scratches and retains that perfect glossy sheen of new vinyl. There is just one spindle line on each side of the label so this vinyl has obviously been hardly played. The play grading below confirms this and rarely have I heard better.
Play grading
'Pigs on the Wing1' plays almost perfectly, the audio is stunning with almost zero static. The audio here really belies its age. The intro to 'Dogs' has a little static but then plays with stunning clarity. I cannot stress just how good it sounds! I have rarely heard an 'Animals' as good as this and even on the long quiet middle section I couldn't even hear any static. The quality is first class especially when you consider this vinyl is nearly 40 years old. Audio does not get better than this! The ending also does not have the distortion that the very early pressings have.
Side Two continues the superb quality. 'Pigs (Three Different Ones)' has almost no static at the start. The remainder plays with excellent clarity again with barely any static, just 3/4 clicks. The audio is so clear though and is a top quality listen. The very quiet intro to 'Sheep' plays with the minimum of static, so rare to find. Thereafter it plays almost to Mint standard and 'Pigs On The Wing2' only has a handful of 'dust ticks' only. It ends the LP with such clear audio it is incredible to think this vinyl is very nearly 40 years of age.
Gatefold cover
The original G & L gatefold cover is in great condition with only minor shelf wear. It is very clean and free of marks but does have a little rubbing on the top and bottom of the spine and light rubbing on the edges. The back of the cover also has some rubbing more noticeable towards the bottom left. Whilst it does have some shelf wear it is not major and is still one of the cleanest gatefolds you will find in my opinion as they are so prevalent to wear and tear. This one has been very well looked after. The opening edge is very clean and the inside of the gatefold remains in superb shape.
It has no bar code on the reverse as per the early pressings and also has the front edge of the gatefold sealed with a foldunder. In the lower right corner it says "Made and printed in Great Britain 7701 TM Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd."
Lyric sleeve
The cardboard lyric inner has the rounded corners as per the early pressings and is one of the best I have seen, it is in amazing condition. There are no splits - how rare is that?! It is practically of Mint quality. It has the 9-inch thumb notch and in the lower right corner has the catalogue number "SHVL 815(I)"
Labels
In superb condition there is just a hint of spindle wear, played once or twice I imagine.
