Description
Animals A2 / B2 (very first pressing)
This first pressing is in excellent condition for its age. As described below the audio plays to a high standard and the original gatefold cover only has minor wear.

Visual grading
Under a strong bright light you can some wispy hairlines no doubt caused by sleeve removal. The vinyl is very clean overall and only has a couple of small 'spot' type marks on Side One. For nearly 40 years old it remains in excellent condition and it is very difficult to see any spindle wear.
Play grading
'Pigs on the Wing1' has a little static and a couple of pops but still plays very clearly. 'Dogs' has superb audio and the clarity and depth of the sound is first class. There is a touch of light intermittent static that is so much in the background as to be insignificant. During the whole track I heard only 3/4 light clicks and the quality of the audio on this first pressing does not disappoint.
'Pigs (Three Different Ones)' has a hint of static at the beginning and one pop but thereafter plays extremely well with wonderfully clear audio and only a few dust tick sounds. The very quiet intro to 'Sheep' plays with only light static and one click, none of the loud crackle you so often hear. The remainder of the track has stunning audio, amazing depth of sound and is very close to Near Mint standard the audio is that good. 'Pigs On The Wing2' ends the side with stunning clarity and hardly any static, a fantastic ending.
Gatefold cover
The G & L gatefold cover is in excellent condition with some minor shelf wear the most obvious of which is on the spine. There is some rubbing towards the top but less towards the bottom. Other than that the edges are very clean with only a small area of rubbing on along the top edge of the back cover. There are a few small indentations on the back but overall the gatefold has stood the test of time very well. The inside is in great condition. The opening edge is very clean suggesting the record has not been removed too often. There are no marks or writing anywhere.
It has no bar code as per the first presses and also has the front edge of the gatefold sealed with a foldunder. In the lower right corner, it says "Made and printed in Great Britain 7701 TM Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd."
Lyric sleeve
The cardboard lyric inner has the rounded corners as per the first pressings and has a 5cm split at the bottom. The edges are very clean with only a little rubbing. It has the 9-inch thumb notch on the edge with the catalogue number 'SHVL 815(I) in the lower right corner'.
Labels
They are in superb condition with no marks or writing and almost no spindle wear.
