DETAILS ABOUT GRADING & BACKGROUND ON MY BUY IT NOW AUCTIONS (Please read!)

Hello and welcome to my auction!  This is part of a collection that has remained virtually untouched for years.  The previous owner only bought items he found interesting, so there was very little ‘dross’ in this collection.  Some of his records were Mint (and barely played at all!), and some were played a lot and have lower gradings.  Everything however is extremely interesting – and I have graded EXTREMELY strictly indeed!  So with this in mind - it is very VERY important to understand how my VERY strict grading system works!  I grade EVERYTHING standing on a chair directly under a 150 watt bulb which reveals everything!  Therefore if I grade a record 'VG' - it does NOT mean it is 'covered in scuffing and marks' - it will still be a VERY clean looking record indeed, and often barely played!  For example - if I hold a record under light and see a lovely black sheen, but a few of the VERY lightest paper scuffs, and 2 or 3 VERY light lines - I will still ONLY grade the record VG+.  So whilst you shouldnt expect MINT from my 'VG' records - you should still expect a VERY clean & bright looking record indeed!  And even my records graded only 'Good' or Good+' will be VERY presentable playable examples indeed!  And if I list a record in the condition most LPs seem to be in today (namely covered in general light scuffing - but still plays through absolutely fine with a few crackles & pops) - then I would ONLY grade this record Fair or even Poor+.  So I am very VERY strict on grading indeed - and almost NEVER use an Excellent grading unless the record looks virtually 'factory fresh' under light!  PLEASE ALSO NOTE - as these records have been sitting for many years, and have come direct to auction - so they may also be a little dusty (but NOT dirty!), and may benefit from a clean / dust off by the next owner (if so wished).  I also have no time to play these at all (visual grading only) - but it is VERY easy to spot any sounding marks under light, and I will mention anything that falls out of the grade given!  In short - if you buy one of my records, and expect the grade given you should be very pleasantly surprised indeed!  And in the unlikely event of a problem, any purchase is also covered by a refund including postage. 

I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO PRICE THESE RECORDS TO SELL - AND HAVE NOT SET THE 'BUY IT NOW' PRICE SLIGHTLY 'HIGH' HOPING THAT BEST OFFERS COME IN AT 'ABOUT THE RIGHT PRICE'....  I WANT TO GET THESE RECORDS SHIFTED QUICKLY - SO WHY NOT MAKE AN OFFER?  BE AWARE THOUGH - THAT SOME OF THESE ITEMS MAY WELL FLY OUT IMMEDIATELY AT THE 'BUY IT NOW' PRICE ALONE (AS THEY ARE PRICED UP VERY CHEAPLY INDEED - AND WELL BELOW PREVIOUS AUCTION PRICES!), SO YOU MAY WELL HAVE TO BE QUICK!  IN SHORT - I HAVE TRIED TO GRADE VERY STRICTLY INDEED - AND PRICE THESE RECORDS TO GO!!!

RARITY:-  The Pink Fairies first & RAREST LP ever!  Made even rarer still as it is 100% COMPLETE with its ORIGINAL 'Plastic Outer', 'Picture' inner sleeve, and Gatefold Card Cover!  This one is made even rarer still as the 'Picture' Inner sleeve is UNSPLIT and is in BRILLIANT condition!

GRADING:-   VG++++ if not better (graded very VERY strictly indeed, under a 150 watt bulb - and most I am certain would grade even higher still!).  This is a very VERY nice example indeed - with NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, NO scufflines, NO surface marks, and only some VERY light paper scuffs visible under light!  THIS RECORD LOOKS SUPERB!  As stated above, I havent the time to play all these records through - but in this case I DID play this one through from end to end - and found NO sticks, NO jumps, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO distortion, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!  There was also some VERY slight background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - though this was lost WAY behind ALL but the VERY quietest parts ONLY (of which there is barely ANY!) - which still plays VERY well indeed!  A very VERY nice example indeed - to which I have applied the strictest gradings!

PICTURE INNER:-  EX- if not better!  A BRILLIANT inner sleeve - and so VERY hard to find like this now!  NO rips, NO tears, NO splits, only a couple of small 'printing traces' on the plain back of the inner (clearly from manufacture - and commonly found on this inner!), NO rubbing to the picture, and NO writing!  A BRILLIANT inner sleeve - and still FULLY 'poly-lined'!

PLASTIC OUTER:-  Basically very VERY nice indeed, and would EASILY be EX if not better - were it not for the usual (and inevitable!) splits on the edges (small one at the bottom, slightly larger one at the top). ALL COPIES have this (unless contents were removed on purchase!) as the plastic outer was always made far too small for the contents and gradually shrinks over the years.  So around VG seems about right.  I supply a plastic cover anyway - so all contents will easily be kept together, and even if unsplit, this plastic outer would be completely unuseable (as it is only all copies today).

SINGLE THICKNESS GATEFOLD COVER:-   VG++ if not better!  A BRILLIANT example, with NO splits, barely ANY edge wear AT ALL, NO sticker tears, only VERY slight spinal wear towards the top (barely ANY spinal wear elsewhere AT ALL!), only VERY slight corner wear, only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking!), NO rubbing, NO sticker marks, NO yellowing, and NO writing!  The opening edges are beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!  And the inside of the cover is in SUPERB condition and must grade NM!  A very VERY nice cover indeed!
