PIL (Public Image Ltd) - Original Metal Box x3LP Vinyl 1st UK - 1979 A pre-owned copy of the sought after ‘original’ PIL (The Public Image Ltd) ‘Metal Box’, the original first edition pressing from 1979. Featuring 3 discs of vinyl (45RPM) in a metal film canister-style metal tin, embossed with the PIL logo, plus the ‘Metal 1’ catalogue number sticker on the reverse of the tin. This original edition record set showcases the band's new wave style with a mix of progressive, punk, and psychedelic genres. Featuring: X1 circular tin metal outer casing X3 separate vinyls X4 circular paper separators X1 track listing sheet (A5 size) The vinyl inside the metal tin box is in very good overall condition. And being packaged in the original tin container adds to the rarity and collectability. The outer ‘tin’ material has oxidised a bit over the years and formed patches of rust on the surface, which could be described as an authentic patina from a rare item that is showing its vintage age. With care, the surface rust could be cleaned up - but some collectors might prefer the original rawness of this vintage 1979 item. One of ‘those’ record releases from 1979 that is a must-have for fans of Public Image Limited and serious vinyl enthusiasts alike, Due to the oxidisation on the tin surface, this pre-owned item is available at the bargain price of £150.00
