PHLEGETHON - "You're No Good / The Sun"
Michigan Private issue 1970 45rpm
This disc plays: M- (read below)
(Ok, here's the deal on this record. Phlegethon was 'my' band, my last venture into the 'rock band' era of my life before I got into radio. The band was born out of the remnants of The SoulBenders; myself and my childhood life-long friend Jeff Boughner [guitarist]. I am the lead singer and keyboardist on the top track. Just keyboards on the flip.
THE STORY ON THIS SINGLE UP FOR AUCTION: 6 years ago, we had a flash flood thunderstorm that produced tornadoes here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a result, a surge of water came into my basement...about an inch worth, but it traveled the entire length of the basement where I stored thousands of my 45's. I had been saving a 25 count sealed box of this single for safekeeping and the water touched the bottom of the box. I figured all these years that they had survived safely, but when I recently opened it, I discovered that just enough water had caused the sleeves to soak (those brown crappy ones), eventually staining all of the labels. The vinyl itself also has visible remnants of this ordeal, it doesn't look that great, but after playing a couple, I found that they play pretty much like new.
So, I've decided to part with one to see if there's any interest in this record. I've never sold one on Ebay before.
I was told a couple years ago, by a regular buyer in the UK that this record was getting a bit of club play over there. That would be most gratifying if that indeed is true.)
THERE WERE ONLY 1,000 COPIES OF THIS RECORD PRESSED. I know that, because 'I' was the guy who placed the order.

MY GRADING SCALE
(very similar to the Goldmine standard)
NM (Near Mint): Record will show no serious scuffs or scratches in the playing area. May have minor scuffs on edges from decades of storage, or a small scuff, scratch or paper scuff on playing area.
It's near mint, not mint (which would be 'sealed' to me). There should be no audible distractions.
M- (Near Mint minus): A scuff or two or light scratch or two on either or both sides that may be heard.
VG+: Scuffs & some minor scratches in the playing area. Some will most likely be heard.
VG: Many scuffs or scratches that will be heard but record should still play fine.
Record grading is subjective. That's why I offer a money back guarantee on
