Here for sale is an original 1990 PHIL COLLINS SERIOUS HITS LIVE 1st UK pressing in amazing EXCELLENT+ condition, manufactured in London. It comes in an original MINT condition gatefold album cover and inner sleeves.
A UK & Europe first pressing (Virgin Records catalog number PCLP1), the dead wax runout typically features the following stamped and etched codes:
Side A: PCLP 1 A-5U-1- TOWN HOUSE DMM (Etched)
Side B: PCLP 1 B-4U-1- D
Side C: PCLP 1 C-4U-1-1 D
Side D: PCLP 1 D-3U-1- D
The Town House DMM etched on the dead wax runoff groove signifies where the album made which was Townhouse Studios in Shepherd’s Bush in London. The DMM stands for Direct Metal Mastering, a far superior way of recording directly onto copper coated metal masters and not the softer and more easily worn out acetate lacquer disc. This method also removes the problems of pre-echo or ghosting that traditional methods suffered from and why artists like Phil Collins who were particularly fastidious about sound quality were keen advocates of DMM.
The Vinyl plays through amazingly on all 4 sides and is like your standing in the recording studio!! Fantastic razor blade sharp sound thanks to the DMM , with hardly any background crackle or static, plays ALMOST like it's fresh out of HMV in 1990!! please listen to the video clip.
Vinyl Condition: EXCELLENT one or two very light surface marks which in no way effect the sound quality and no spindle wear. This double album has hardly been ever played. Sound quality excellent with minimal to no background static even between tracks.
Cover sleeve Condition: MINT. Cardboard sleeve appears in mint condition, the spine and edges are mint as is the interior and both inner sleeves.
You won’t find many original albums in better condition than this one. Smells like new as well!
