ENGLISH ROSE - This early Mac import album from the Peter Green days was a tough one to track down even during its vinyl heyday (maybe distributors were concerned that pre-Monty Python era U.S. record-buyers would be frightened by the cross-dressed Mick Fleetwood on the cover!). Collectors can rejoice with this Japan Limited Edition that has been out of print for decades! This 1968 release can be labeled "seminal" just on the basis of two tracks..."Black Magic Woman" and "Albatross". "Black Magic Woman" obviously inspired Carlos Santana, who not only covered it, but followed the original guitar arrangement almost note for note, which shows the kind of respect Green had from some higher profile musicians. And then there's the sublime "Albatross"... at least one of the Beatles has stated that "Sun King" was inspired by Green's memorable instrumental (listen to the two songs back-to-back sometime). The rest of the album is dominated by Green's authentic blues tone and great slide playing.

  - By 1970 Fleetwood Mac were immensely popular, touring constantly both at home and abroad. In February 1970 the band rocked Boston's legendary Boston Tea Party playing three amazing concerts there for three consecutive nights in a row. The performances were recorded in hopes of releasing a live album but front man Peter Green soon announced his decision to quit the band and the masters were promptly shelved. These recordings - eventually trickled out onto a few albums during the 1980s but with consistently poor sound quality - were finally remixed at SRT studios in 1998.  

Boston is a 4LP box set which collects live recordings from an earlier era of the band's colourful history. The set features the classic blues line-up of Mick Fleetwood, Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, John McVie and Jeremy Spencer. Originally recorded at the Boston Tea Party venue over three nights in February 1970, for a planned release later the same year, these recordings were left in the can, unissued, following leader Peter Green's sudden decision to leave the band a few weeks after the dates. Tracks from the shows were eventually released in various forms in the mid-80s but these releases were blighted by poor sound sources. The discovery of the original 8-track tapes and a number of previously unreleased tracks in the late 90s allowed the material to be re-mixed, re-mastered, and substantially overhauled for release on 3 separate CD volumes. This new set brings together all of these re-mastered recordings for the first time as a 4LP box set, presenting a complete document of these historic shows. The collection also features a 4-page booklet with extensive sleeve notes and photos from the period.

Then Play On is the third studio album by blues-rock band Fleetwood Mac, first released in September 1969. It was the first of their original albums to feature Danny Kirwan and the last with Peter Green. Jeremy Spencer did not feature on the album apart from "a couple of piano things" (according to Mick Fleetwood in Q magazine in 1990). The record, appearing after the group's sudden success in the pop charts, offered a broader stylistic range than the classic blues of the group's first two albums. The title is taken from Duke Orsino's opening line, "If music be the food of love, then play on," from William Shakespeare's comedy play Twelfth night.

The Fleetwood Mac of 1970, before Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the group, was primarily a British blues band. Fleetwood Mac continues today as one of the most enduring and successful rock bands in history.

The 29 songs that Robert johnson recorded in various Texas hotel rooms in 1936 and 1937 are amongst the most significant and influential works in the history of blues music. It was thus very appropriate that it was to these landmark songs that Peter Green turned when recording the two albums that re-launched his career; 1998's "The Robert Johnson Songbook" and 2000's "Hot Foot Powder".

These records whoed a real return to form for the founder of Fleetwood Mac and one of the greatest ever white blues guitarist. "Hot Foot Powder" saw his Splinter Group joined by such blues legends as Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Dr. John, Hubert Sumlin and Joe Louis Walker.

Kiln House is the fourth album by British rock band Fleetwood Mac, released in 1970. This is the first of the post-Peter Green Fleetwood Mac albums, and their last album to feature Jeremy Spencer. Christine McVie was present at the recording sessions and contributed backing vocals and cover art, although she was not a full member of the band until shortly after the album's completion.

Spencer's retro 50s homages and parodies dominate the album, but Danny Kirwan's more sincere songs are almost equally prominent. "Buddy's Song" is credited to Buddy Holly's mother, but is basically the song "Peggy Sue Got Married" with new lyrics listing a number of Buddy Holly song titles.

It was their first album with American guitarist Bob Welch and the first to feature Christine McVie as a full member. Bare Trees is the sixth studio album by British rock band Fleetwood Mac, released in 1972. This is their last album to feature Danny Kirwan, who was fired during the album's supporting tour. In the wake of the band's success in the mid-70s, Bare Trees peaked at No. 70 and achieved Gold status in 1976 and was later certified platinum for selling a million copies.

The album features the original version of "Sentimental Lady," which was later re-recorded by its composer Bob Welch (with Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, and Lindsey Buckingham backing him) for his solo album French Kiss. "Spare Me a Little of Your Love" became a staple of the band's live act from 1972–77. "Spare Me a Little of Your Love" was also covered by Johnny Rivers on his studio album "New Lovers and Old Friends" in 1975, the same year that Fleetwood Mac broke through in the United States with their self-titled album.
