Description

  • Peter Gabriel released his fifth solo album and first live recording "Plays Live" in June 1983 on Geffen Records. This double-disc includes 16 tracks and nearly 90 minutes of music that was recorded in December 1972 at three college shows (Normal, DeKalb, and Carbondale) in Illinois and one at Memorial Hall in Kansas City. The producers acknowledge that some added studio work (described as cheating) were used in the final release.

  • This Promo copy of (2 GHS 4012 F) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The cover still has its gloss and only the slightest wear and is easily VG+ as are the two original color photo Inner Sleeves. Please see the pictures. Both discs test played cleanly and are VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Peter Woolliscroft and Artisan Sound Recorders and this copy was pressed by Allied Record Co. in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched 2GHS-1-4012-SH3 B-18062-SH3 SLM ∆ 4324 1-1 and is stamped with the Allied and Artisan logos.

  • In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.  It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 37 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws.  Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
