Description
This is the original UK DEMO 45 by PETER AND GORDON, A WORLD WITHOUT LOVE / IF I WERE YOU, on the COLUMBIA white label DB 7225, 1964 Mono
The song was written by PAUL McCARTNEY when he was 16, but attributed to 'Lennon - McCartney' on the label
Paul McCartney was dating Jane Asher at the time, who's brother was PETER Asher of PETER AND GORDON. Paul handed the song over to the duo as The BEATLES rejected the song as they felt it wasn't good enough, ironically the song made No. 1 in the UK charts
Matrix numbers are, Side A:- 7XCA 27397-1N, Side B:- 7XCA 27398-1N
At the 9oclock position their are no Mother stampers, 3oclock position on both sides are the stamper codes J R. 12oclock position is KT stamped
The vinyl is in EX+++ condition. I have played both sides (Very Carefully!), both sides play MINT-, both sides play with superb clean crispness. Superb Mono sound!, WOW!
The label's are in EX condition, clean and bright. B Side in the centre is KT embossed tax code
The 45 is complete with it's original 1964 UK COLUMBIA sleeve and in VG+++ condition, clean, a little ruffled and creased , no unwanted writing
